This quaint little one room cabin overlooks our 110 year old barn and garden. In the heart of the living space of our working farm, Hipcampers can expect a little more social and farm noise (goats, sheep, dogs, pigs, laughs), clean sheets, and parking right next to the cabin. The wood burning stove is off line for the summer season due to fire concerns, and there are lots of exposed screens to keep summer sleeping temps ideal, though the cabin does get hot during the day.
The cabin is a short walk from our composting toilet, and shower building. Two sleep comfortably in the comfy queen sized bed. Additional campers are encouraged to bring tent or tarp, and their own bedding, as there are two small tent sites adjacent to the cabin. A kiddo or two can fit on the floor, but bedding and sleeping pads are not provided.
Like many structures on our farm, this building is made exclusively out of home-made and recycled building materials, including the floor from an old --Antarctican-- bowling alley! There is lots of character in a tidy little package.

We loved the Cabin experience, I have never seen so many stars at night. It was a super experience and the bed was mega comfy. Matt and Eve are very nice and we would stay with them in the future agian.
Cheers
Matt, Eve and the crew have a special venture and property! I was thankful for their hospitality and my stay. It was a good base camp before I ventured into Yosemite. The cottage was cute, bed super comfy and the shared kitchen was really great! Dogs, goats and sheep were great hosts and neighbors. Thanks Wondernut Farm!
Highly recommend this Hipcamp! Super awesome farm with the best hosts! They are so great at getting you to feel like family! Only 40mins from the Yosemite entrance. Even if you don’t have a reservation (and don’t want to get through the gate before 6am), Carlon Falls is super stunning! Cocina Michoacana and Priest Station Cafe are great for food too!
What an absolutely incredibly experience for our family! Matt and Eve were the perfect combination of comforting host/tour guide while giving us all the privacy we needed. They allowed us to watch them work, safely interact with animals, and soak in the farm life style. The location was great- easy drive into town and Yosemite to mix up our stay. We're excited to visit again and see how the farm progresses.

INCREDIBLE place. Wow.
Matt and Even are phenomenal hosts. We got to eat dinner with them and learn about their farm.
The internet is blazing fast Starlink.
The cabin is so beautiful. You can see the stars from the bed. It has enormous windows and window screens. It is essentially sleeping outside, covered. With all the sounds and smells of a farm.
We got to play with the goats and sheep. They are soooooo cuuuuute.
The toilet is awesome and overall this place is a joy to learn about.
What a special place to stay! Matt and Eve are very gracious hosts and made me feel instantly welcome on their property. Matt was a great communicator before and during the stay, he really goes the extra mile.
The farm itself is charming as can be, with a great communal feel (there were always others there). The main building has everything one could need for cooking, on top of just being super cool. The guest room gets the job done; hot during the day (not that I was there long anyway) and the screened windows offer a lovely view of the stars at night (which were plentiful). Bed was comfy.
The shower and toilet situation are quite charming and effective. The place is off the grid so be prepared for that. I was lucky enough to help out with the livestock one evening, which was a lot of fun.
Overall this is a one of a kind stay and I couldn't recommend it more to anyone looking for a unique stay in a beautiful location with great hosts!
We (my wife, 5 y/o son and I) LOVED our time on Matt and Eve's farm. The cabin was simple but lovely, the grounds amazing, and the whole vibe was really great. The outdoor kitchen is a great idea and we loved making our dinners after a day out in Yosemite. It was also a real pleasure to talk with Matt, Eve, and the other folks working on the farm: they are doing great work and offer a real model for sustainable --and Edenic-- living!
We loved our long weekend at the Wondernut Farm! Although many may be tempted to just use this place as a stopoff on the way to Yosemite, you're missing out if you don't spend more time there.
For us, the Wondernut Farm was a comfortable paradise of curiosities where we could relax, cook, enjoy, and learn. Hosts Matt and Eve were true gems, as were their compatriots, so generous with their time, empathy, knowledge, and humor. We relaxed in the sun and read. Our 6 y.o. learned how to milk goats and sheep, make poop vanish (just put dirt on it!), and carry kids (the goat variety) back to their pens.
The place itself was very comfortable. Awesome mattress—never slept so well. We were able to cook in the well-stocked communal kitchen and enjoy company every evening. Got lucky and ate some wild turkey eggs. When they get ramped up with their full dairy license, you'll be able to partake in what look to be delicious cheeses, yoghurts, and ice creams!
To be clear, this place might not be for you if you don't like the occasional pleasant surprise, don't like animals, or don't like dirt.
Beautiful property with so much to explore. Warm and welcoming hosts who went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. We stayed prior to spending the day in Yosemite, which was very easily accessible from Wondernut, but ultimately wished we had more time to spend on the farm!
