Our farmstay cabins are hand-built with simple amenities. All of the farm is off the grid with solar power. The yellow and red sleeping cabins are located in close proximity to one another and share the kitchen cabin. Each cabin has an outdoor composting toilet and an enclosed outdoor shower with hot water is located a short walk from the cabins, near the main farm house. The kitchen cabin is equipped with a cookstove and mini-refrigerator. The red sleeping cabin has a woodstove and firewood is provided. There is a queen-sized bed in the sleeping loft and a single bed downstairs. Families with small children should note that the cabins are next to a small pond. The cabin is cozy and best suited for individuals, couples or families with small children. Groups of 3+ adults (depending on sleeping arrangements), or families with older children, might want to consider reserving both sleeping cabins. Parking is approximately 300' from the cabins; a marked trail leads directly to the cabins and a wagon is available for schlepping stuff.

Very cosy cabin, peaceful, and nice hosts
This was my second time staying at Windy Hollow, and it was a great experience! My boyfriend and I stayed here on our road trip up the 1, and it was a perfect pitstop. We really enjoyed the peaceful cabin and fire!
Outdoor lovers - this will be your heaven!! The red cabin was cozy, beautiful and had everything we need. Warm blankets and a comfy bed + the sweetest wood burning stove. The kitchen was well stocked. The garden and property was beautiful to explore and Point Arena stole our hearts. Jennifer was incredibly helpful and responsive. 100% would recommend.
The Windy Hollow Farm was everything we could have hoped for and so much more! Rustic yet so comfortable and cozy. The Red Cabin can equipped with warm blankets, a comfy bed, wood stove and the kitchen had all the equipment needed to make any basic meal. We felt very well taken care of by Jen and family during our stay. There is a ladder to the lofted bed in the Red Cabin so make sure you are able to climb a steep ~10 step ladder.
Cozy getaway for a visit to the coast and a small town experience! In the winter it can get very cold and windy up at the farm, but once we got the fire in the cabin going it warmed up quickly! Definitely on the rustic side and possibly more ideal in warmer weather, but if you’re traveling with people comfortable with an off the grid experience, would very much recommend! Ben, one of the hosts, greeted us warmly and invited us to take a look around the farm. Nice touches inside the hand-built cabin!
Lovely cabins super close to the coast!
This was a very pleasant surprise. we expected a nice cabin close to the beach, but got much more. the cabin is on a self-sufficient farm, with jennifer and ben as caretakers. They built everything themselves, and it is an amazing place. The kitchen is simple but well equipped with hot & cold running water, gasstove, utensils, etc. the shower is a little cabin in the woods, also with hot & cold water, The cabin itself is fantastic with a beautiful firewood stove and large bed upstairs. All in all a really welcoming and beautiful place.
Our stay at the farm was exactly what we expected. The weather is cool and the cabin is cozy. My partner and I wanted to have a weekend away to explore the Mendocino coast and some quiet time away from the city. The farm is tranquil in the fog and the cabin felt like it’s own little world where we could read and write. Jennifer was there to meet us along with the farms adorable dog Jack. She gave us some excellent recommendations of things to do nearby and made herself available for any questions. The cabins are quite close, however we knew that going in and the family staying along side us was amicable and respectful. We loved the outdoor shower! We would like to come back in the future and rent both cabins with some friends.
