Just off scenic Highway 1, WagMore is a 63 acre property, 10 minutes from the quaint harbor town of Morro Bay and 15 minutes from Montana de Oro.  Our happiest campers are those who prefer closeness with nature over a lot of amenities.  This primitive camp site offers plenty of privacy, wildlife viewing and room to roam while still being a short drive to many amenities and attractions in the Central Coast.  Site #3 is located up a gravel road, in it's own private oak grove, and is best suited for tents and smaller vans and truck campers.  There is an open-air commode, a large picnic table, a propane fire pit and a seasonal wood fire ring which is open ONLY during the wet/green time of year--typically late November through April.  The site can accommodate up to three vans/cars plus three tents.  Although the road is rough, a two-wheel drive vehicle can make it--I drive my minivan up it all the time, and we've had many a Prius make the trip! We do NOT recommend taller campers, or RVs/5th-wheels of any size because of the overhead clearance and narrow road.  Please note that the seasonal wood fire pit is open only during the wet and green time of year which is typically late November through April.

In Morro Bay just up the highway, visitors can enjoy beaches, fishing, boating, whale watching, surfing and SUP. Nearby Montana de Oro offers fantastic mountain biking and hiking. Also, the southern part of Big Sur is day tripping distance up Highway 1 from the camp where visitors will find spectacular scenery and hiking.

Last weekend was my second time staying here and I have nothing but great things to say about my stay. The location is incredible. Tucked away in the mountains, but close enough to town if you'd like to get a fresh cup of coffee or pop down to the beach for the day. The site is huge and allows plenty of space to spread out, pitch a tent, hang a hammock, and enjoy any other activities you and your friends/family have planned. Would stay here again and again and again. Looking forward to me next trip!

We loved it here! Easy to follow directions to campsite, text in check in makes it seemless. The campsite itself was secluded and spacious, my dog, husband, and I really enjoyed our night here and will come back!

Very secluded. Beautifully maintained space. Clear directions and great communication from host. Close to lots of great hiking, beaches, and dining options. Open toilet is clean and nicely sequestered off - but not totally private (if considering booking with multiple families). Poison oak is noted and has some signage - be careful and you should be fine. Lots of turkeys hanging around which was cool to see. Would definitely come back!

Our stay was peaceful at Lori's lovely campsite. The setting is beautiful, quiet, and very nice. We enjoyed being surrounded by oak trees and with the added plus of a flock of wild turkeys passing through our campsite. The camp area had the added plus of a nice little privy and of several well-marked hiking trails near the campsite. As in the past, it was a pleasure camping here. Thank you Lori!

This was such a great place to stay. Our campsite was very clean and the poison oak was cleared well. The propane fire pit was so nice. Such a great set up. I would 100% stay here again.

Staying at WagMore site #3 was awesome. Dark skies allowed us to see the stars, a propane fire pit for us to use with a propane tank, and shade for most of the day so that we could park and hang out without being in full sunlight.

My 2wd Ford Transit van was able to make it up the hill without issue, but be mindful of clearance with overhanging branches, should you have items secured above a high roof vehicle's roof.
