Just off scenic Highway 1, WagMore is a 63 acre property, 10 minutes from the quaint harbor town of Morro Bay and 15 minutes from Montana de Oro.  Our happiest campers are those who prefer closeness with nature over a lot of amenities.  This primitive camp site offers plenty of privacy, wildlife viewing and room to roam while still being a short drive to many amenities and attractions in the Central Coast.  Camp WagMore (site #3--oak grove) is part of the original Camp WagMore but is now listed separately to better describe the unique features of the site. Located up a gravel road, in it's own private oak grove, site #3 is best suited for tents and smaller vans and truck campers.  There is an open-air commode, a large picnic table, and a seasonal fire pit which is open ONLY during the wet/green time of year--typically late November through April.  NEW: we have a propane fire pit available during the fire ban. The site can accommodate up to three vans/cars plus three tents.  Although the road is rough, a two-wheel drive vehicle can make it--I drive my minivan up it all the time, and we've had many a Prius make the trip! We do NOT recommend taller campers, or RVs/5th-wheels of any size because of the overhead clearance and narrow road.  Please note that the seasonal fire pit is open only during the wet and green time of year which is typically late November through April.

In Morro Bay just up the highway, visitors can enjoy beaches, fishing, boating, whale watching, surfing and SUP. Nearby Montana de Oro offers fantastic mountain biking and hiking. Also, the southern part of Big Sur is day tripping distance up Highway 1 from the camp where visitors will find spectacular scenery and hiking.

Amazing loved it - we had camp #3 it was a beautiful spot with good hiking/ vista access
Easy check in
We had to bail the night of our reservation because we got in too late but they were super cool and understanding let us push it back to the next night I’m so glad we stayed. Couple of brave deer helped us set up camp :)

WagMore is the best! We have stayed at two sites, Overflow B and most recently Site#3. Site#3 is spacious and has great shade for most of the day with lots of room for us to roam. We had an amazing time exploring all of the hiking paths that are within the site with our dog and friends. Great amenities, private, and close to Morro Bay for the best camping shower. We can't wait to come back! :)

Peaceful, clean, and beautiful. It was so quiet and peaceful camping under the trees that I just slept and slept! I will hopefully be back soon. Communication with the host was easy and I would highly recommend this Hipcamp site to anyone wanting to camp in this area.

We love it here! We have been waiting 2 years to camp at site 3! And it was worth it! Our past 2 years we had to cancel because of high aqi due to wildfires and so this year we were so excited to finally head down to slo!

It’s nice and private! It has a fire pit (that we couldn’t figure out how to use - but that’s okay 😂) the compost toilet isn’t that bad! And it’s has plenty of shade!
There are definitely mosquitoes 🦟 that are huge so bring bug spray!
And helllla
Poison oak everywhere so maybe not best for little ones (we had a 19 month old) she had a blast playing in all the dirt lol
Great location as it’s only a few mins from the store and she has propane she rents out!
Would love to come again for a weekend!

The hosts were very nice and accommodating. Anytime we needed anything, they were quick to respond. The site is in a lovely oak grove with beautiful views. The campsite is great for groups that are noisy because there is no one anywhere around who can hear you. The bathroom Set up was comfortable after you got used to the idea, and very clean and did not smell at all. The only downside to this campsite was that there was poison oak all through the trees. There was none in the camp ring itself but you couldn’t go into the trees or let your dogs run without a leash.

Really nice spot: very private, shady and quiet. The surrounding woods are full of poison oak which the hosts have done their best to control, but it's something to keep in mind if you have dogs or little kids. Lori was a model host: communication was great, and she was very helpful in helping us sort out last minute arrangements when our backpacking trip got cancelled due to the fires.

Wild turkeys abound.

We had a lovely time at this site! Directions provided by Lori were easy to navigate and the spot was a great space. Lots of little trails on the property to explore and perfect little touches around the site to show that Lori really cares about your experience. Would absolutely book again!
