Places to see near Vivian Lee A.’s Land
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Was lovely! Very good location central to a lot of beautiful areas. love the hosts they are wonderful people. Excited to come back and see how all of the improvements are! (as of writing this review it's already better than most car camping sites)
Great little ojai-adjacent campsite
Nice place to camp for the weekend. We were there during a heat wave so we weren't around camp for most of the day. By sunset/dusk it was cool again so it was bearable, and it even got a little chilly by the middle of the night. Also the property does get pretty dusty due to the lack of vegetation, but it didn't bother us too much.
Vivian and her hosts were really nice. They provided plenty of firewood on site. There's a shower tent and portable bathroom which made it a lot more comfortable from a camping perspective. The location about 5 miles from Ojai made it a great place to set up in the area for the weekend. We ventured to Ventura for craft beer/pizza, and Ojai for the farmers market and coffee (at Beacon).
Overall I'd recommend this place. The only thing to note is that the property has a lot of farm animals, and the roosters started crowing at 4:30 a.m. and kept going until 9 or so, which was really annoying. I'd bring a set of earplugs if you plan on sleeping in past 4:30 in the morning!
In-between camping and glamping
Vivian and David we’re great hosts! Vivian was very fast at communicating through the app! The fire pit and grill came in handy and they had plenty of wood available free to take. Some of the pieces were too long so i wish we brought an axe or something.. but we managed to find some good pieces! There was also a picnic table and trash cans for trash, recyclables, and food waste! The bathroom was a very well maintained porta potty. Didn’t get to use the shower but it is definitely a glorified camp shower with temperature controlled water! I just wished i brought an EZ up since there isn’t much shade. We stayed at site 4 near a tree that provided some shade but it’s not close to the grill and the table so definitely bring your own shade. I camped in my Tesla and there’s a supercharger 10 min from Vivian’s place! Overall a great experience at Ojai!
Labor day family fun
1st time Hip Campers and this was a great place to start. Vivian (owner) was wonderful with communication from booking to arrival. The location was perfect since we planned to spend a day exploring Ojai (4 miles away) and another in Ventura (15-20 min drive). Loved the sunrise/sunset each day, hearing the roasters the morning & the cool air in the AM and evenings. During mid day - it is hot! The owners are very kind people and we meet some other wonderful hip campers while we were there.
The camp sites are great size. We were able to have 2 tents up and not feel like we were on top of each other. We had adequate amount of space from the other campers but close enough to interact, which is wonderful.
The amenities were great. Love being able to have a shower when camping and with the option of hot water. Fantastic. Be careful though the water fluctuates from freezing cold to burn your skin off, so pay attention. One shower suggestion, a long hose for the shower head. We had our 6 year old with us and it was a little short. We made it work though. 😄 The porter potty was clean but do suggest having a company come out to empty the waste. It got quite full on a very busy weekend. The owners provided a fire pit with a grill and firewood. We had amazing fires each AM/PM.
We will definitely recommend to our friends/family. Thank you Vivian and David for being excellent hosts and providing a great space. We hope to camp again in the future.
Vivians place is lovely. Its a perfect location to explore the magic of Ojai area with large campsites with all you need. Shes a truly magnanimous hostess with many helpful tips. Enjoy!
So close to lots of great places.
The location is really easy to find and it is just down the road from the lake, or Ojai, or the beach. Really awesome location. It’s dusty, so be prepared for that.
Awesome site and location
Vivian’s place is great! The absolute perfect location - close to hiking, the coast, and cute towns like Oaji. Great public bathroom, shower, fire pit, and overall site. Nice and quiet and great view of the stars and moon. Vivian is a very friendly host and so helpful answering all our questions. We would definitely go back!
