Welcome to nature in the foothills of Paradise where you are greeted by quail and wild turkey, where you can site a family of raccoons, a fox, an owl or a coyote, where all the while sentinel hawks are watching over their land.
We are happy to share our modern tiny farm house, set on 6.5 acres, full of original art, natural light, country views, and abundant charm. Sleep comfortably in the king bed with luxury linens, or climb the industrial pipe ladder into the full bed "tree house" loft. Cook meals in the tiny kitchen. Eat inside or outside at dining tables and relax inside the house or on the private spacious deck a few steps through the french doors. If you want a noisy place, you may not like it here; most of the sounds are from the crickets chirping, the frogs croaking, the birds singing, and the breeze blowing through the trees. Enjoy lounging on the private Tiny House deck or on the brick patio in the rose garden just int front of the Tiny House. Lounge in a hammock, take a walk down our country road, feed the alpaca, sheep or chickens or steer, take pictures of the amazing sunsets, and count the falling stars. Grab your bike and ride the trail just up the road in Paradise or launch your kayak on Paradise Lake. An abundance of outdoor activities are easy to access all around us.
Drive 22 min. to downtown Chico and Chico State, famous Bidwell Mansion, or Bidwell Park, 15 minutes to Limesaddle Marina on Lake Oroville or Butte Creek Canyon. Drive 7 minutes to Butte College or the Adventist Hospital, or just 3 minutes to Paradise for antiquing. Bike or walk the Paradise historic trail that follows the old railroad line through Paradise, visit the Paradise Depot Museum or the Gold Nugget Museum.
Cell service is good and we have fiber optic Wi-Fi. The TV has a built in DVD player and a flash drive plug in, or can be connected to a lap top. If you want to watch a DVD, we'd love to lend you our collection. If you need a band aid, a needle and thread, or anything for the kitchen that we haven't thought of, anything at all, just let us know. Julio and I love interacting with guests but we also respect your reasons for travel. Come hang out or lay low. We're flexible. We have four adult children who are sometimes around and grandpa who lives half time here and the other half in Peru. We also have kittens and a Border Collie named Caspian who wander our property. The dog can be kenneled upon request.

Very friendly family. I felt really welcomed here.
The house itself has a ton of nice touches -- the air conditioner is fast (which helps because it heats up in the summer), and the fridge was stocked with farm eggs, fresh well water, and homemade scones.
Oh also, there's a super friendly dog (Caspian) and a cadre of cats that roam about and play with you.
I can’t say enough good things about this spot. I think Carolyn + Julio’s hospitality and the care they put into the details really make it though. We found some freshly baked banana muffins inside when we arrived that were probably the best ones I’ve ever had. We walked around the property a little in the evening and chatted with Carolyn. It was so interesting to hear her stories about the property and the current state of the town.
We cooked up dinner on the hot plate inside, there is also a microwave and toaster for you to use too. The king-size bed in there is ridiculously comfy, slept so soundly in those luxurious linens.
We woke up with the birds chirping outside our window and natural light pouring in through the windows once we opened the curtains. We had such a relaxing morning eating breakfast in the cute kitchen, spent some time on the front patio too. It’s so peaceful out there! I can’t recommend this spot enough, such a relaxing getaway. Looking forward to coming back!

it is a great and relaxing place to stay with friendly hosts.
Very comfortable with high-end furnishings amidst beautiful surroundings.
Highly recommended!

Carolyn and Julio are great hosts! They were very welcoming and full of little attentions: blueberry muffins and fresh eggs from the chicken on the property were waiting for us!
The Tiny House was clean, bright and very comfortable.
We had a great weekend in Paradise!
The tiny house at the Velasquez Tambo Ranch was exactly what we were looking for! A secluded retreat with some, not too many, animals for us city folks :-) Carolyn and Julio were super responsive to any queries we had ahead of traveling up to Paradise and were always available on the properties should we have any questions. We arrived to a lovely welcome of freshly baked lavender banana bread and a nice walk through of the tiny house and surrounding property. We traveled with another family friend who stayed in the Airstream trailer just across the driveway from us. Our kids had a fantastic time roaming the grounds, feeding the chickens and collecting eggs for daily breakfast. We were also happy to a cow, sheep, and alpaca roaming the grounds. Horses were grazing in the property adjacent to our tiny house. Caspian, our host dog, kept us company the whole time we were home. There was a nice picnic table that we could use under the shade by the animals but the kitchens are definitely small to be doing any full fledged cooking. We tried, it was difficult, so we kept to simple things like burgers, pasta, salads, take-outs :-). It was also extremely hot for 70% of the time we were there, so we were so so glad the AC was super efficient in cooling the tiny house quickly! We were 20 min to Chico and to Oroville, with lots of swimming holes to choose from. The town of Paradise is still slowly rebuilding, the folks were friendly and there's a decent supermarket in town. We had a great time here!
My partner and I have been looking for a nice retreat away from the city during this crazy year and this tiny house hosted by Carolyn and Julio was perfect!
They were super communicative and responsive whenever we had a question whether it was before arriving or during. They made us feel welcomed with some freshly baked goods for us to eat for breakfast the next morning.
The tiny house was our first experience in a tiny house and we couldn't have been more pleased. It was clean and cozy! Although it was extremely hot outside during the day, the AC unit in the room was able to keep it cool. A highlight of ours was drinking wine on the small patio at night underneath a sea of stars. I also want to mention that they have some loving animals on the property including a dog that just wants to be pet!
This is located probably 20 min driving from most major activities: the Flumes, Forebay Lake, Chico, etc. We really appreciated this spot as a relaxing getaway from the city. It's great to see how the city of Paradise is recovering after the big fire from a few years back.
Highly recommend their place and I definitely will be coming back!
A tiny adorable house on a tiny adorable farm surrounded by tiny adorable kittens. Carolyn and Julio were incredible hosts. They were friendly and welcoming and have the most beautiful property. The tiny house was very clean and well extremely kept. Little details like lavender scones, fresh eggs, bottles of cold water, and chocolates made it all the more perfect. Our kids spent hours looking for the kittens and watching them play. The experience was a much needed break from the city with all the comforts of home.
Carolyn and Julio went above and beyond to make our first hipcamp experience amazing!!! When we arrived, they gave us the grand tour of our tiny home, discussed the features that came with our stay, and gave us tips and suggestions for our first time in Paradise, CA. They are truly the sweetest couple and they made sure that we felt welcomed to the area. Another plus are all their animals!!! They have a wonderful dog, lots of kittens/cats, chickens, sheep, a steer, and even an ALPACA!! Carolyn baked us lemon lavender muffins that was absolutely wonderful for the morning! They even gave us fresh eggs from their chickens! I would highly recommend this hipcamp to others that want a quick get away :) We were able to go hiking at the flumes to see the Dam and we were able to go rent out some paddle boards at the aquatics center. PS the bed was really comfortable!!
My fiancé and I really loved our stay at this tiny home. The hosts were very welcoming and accommodating. On our first day/day of arrival, they had shared a few eggs from their chicken coop and also left some delicious lavender scones for us in the kitchen.
The tiny house was really clean and had extra toiletries just in case you forgot to bring yours. I love how they have an air conditioning unit and a ceiling fan in the tiny home as well. It can get really hot outside and it’s nice to be able to cool off and relax.
The place is really homey and gets a lot of bright light. The bed(s) are huge and the one we slept on was really comfy. The kitchen was complete with everything you need (and could fit in a tiny house).
Overall, our stay was very relaxing. We will definitely come back!
