Camping with animals!
Matt was a super host! He made sure our stay was comfortable and offered helpful tips with our day trips to Kings Canyon and Sequoia. He even helped us take down our tent and load our car when we left. When we arrived, our animal welcome was pretty cool! We were greeted by sweet friendly horses, dogs and a curious cat. My daughter and I will miss Timber, Boy and Tigger. Just keep in mind the property is still under construction.
Camping at Matt and Merrilee's was such a great experience, it's hard to know where to start. Matt was super helpful and supportive from the moment we arrived, and staying on the property felt 100% safe for me as a single mom with a small child. My daughter enjoyed swimming in the pool, and we both had wonderful experiences connecting with the horses, dogs, and cat. Best of all for me, I loved knowing my money was going to good stewards of the land, who are providing much-needed refuge and healing to vulnerable animals. We hope to camp here again, and would recommend it to others without hesitation. Thank you, Matt and Merrilee!
Lovely night sky and the amenities are nice here. Stayed here only for one night, but I would recommend! Be warned that the freeway is audible so if you’re a light sleeper this might be something to consider
Unique & spacious camp site
The camp was very easy to find even with our late night arrival and Merrilee warmly welcomed us. He gave us a bit of backstory to the site which really stood out to us for future trips. We had plenty of sites to choose from and was fairly easy to navigate even with our 20+ camper on various slopes. I would take your time to choose and arrive with daylight to find the best. We essentially found the first leveled location and passed out for the night.
The site has a really great feel, people are friendly and kept to themselves. Amenities are as stated. Would highly recommend!
My wife and I had a great time here! We got to meet some fellow travelers around the fire at night and enjoyed sleeping under the stars. We were just on the doorstep of Kings Canyon and felt totally off the grids. Superb hosts and we would recommend to all!
Kid and dog friendly.
Merrilee has a wonderful property with several accommodations! Our dog was comfortable and so were we. My son loved the pool, and got to feed the horses and pet the sheep. We had a sleepy toddler and ended up finding night-of camping in Sequoia NP so didn’t end up returning for the whole reservation, but we loved our stay! The location was easy to find and the host was so kind. The showers were perfect for a dusty night of camping under the stars. Thanks for having us!
Great location + cool pool
Great campsite 🏕 & great hosts! The area had everything you need plus more when going camping. A very cool outdoor shower, a bathroom, shared kitchen area and a nice pool that my 8 year old son loved. The location is very convenient if you are visiting Kings Canyon National Park, Pine Flat Lake or the Project Survival Cat Haven. Also was very easy to find.
Our dog Buba loved the place too and enjoyed making new friend 😊.
We had a fun time. It’s July so it was a bit hot and a little breezy so things got dirty but that’s to be expected. The facilities that they have put together are cool, like the DIY shower and the pool is a really nice touch. Her son is a real nice guy
Great hospitality & animals
I love the hospitality of the hosts. The site is currently still under construction at some parts but the hosts tried their best to make sure we have an excellent stay.
I also love the animals on the farm including dogs, cats, horses and sheep. Being able to get near to them and feed them was great experience. They have BBQ facilities and a nice pool The campground can be a bit full of dirt on the ground, so be prepared.
