FlyCamp is Trinty River front property surrounded by BLM land and Salmon spawning pond, adjacent to a federally maintained drift boat launch and bathroom. This stretch of river is classified as Wild and Scenic and is legendary for its salmon, steelhead and Brown Trout fishing by drift boat starting from the Old Bridge in Lewiston or from the property ending at the Steel Bridge take out, or wading the more than 2 mile of river front. The natural beauty of the Trinity River has been one of the most popular sights for visitors to the north coast. Scenic Highway 299 makes easy access to many points of interest. Rafts, canoes and kayaks frequent the rapids in the springtime, and tubers enjoy summertime flows.Fly camp is a beautiful completely natural, raw land adjacent to the Buck Tail boat launch. Ideal for fly fishing, and ending or starting your float to or from the property. Steelhead, trout, Browns, Salmon runs all year long.  Recreational activities include Lewiston lake which is 6 miles away, white class IV water rafting 12 miles down river, as well as numerous hiking and biking opportunities. Free dump and water station available on the property for guests only. Fed maintained toilette as well.

Peaceful Riverside Stay
Our friends shared this Hipcamp listing with us and we’re so grateful! We loved our time at Michael’s property. It’s difficult to find privacy while camping these days and this is exactly what we hoped for. A beautiful stretch of river, a clean campsite, wildlife galore, peace, quiet. The gravel helped keep our camp clean. There was tons of space to chose from for our travel trailer and we found a nice level spot easily. There is no road noise and it’s set off far enough to feel private, yet easy roads to navigate with a trailer. The highlight for us was being so close to the river. Our two kids were able to practice fishing from shore while my husband used waders. We hope to save our pennies and come back to use one of Michael’s recommendations for a guided trip. We saw a bald eagle and an otter. Michael gave very clear directions and instructions for arrival. He answered our questions promptly and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. Just an overall lovely stay and we can’t wait to come back.

The camp was the perfect spot to fish for steelhead. We had a great time and Michael was very accommodating when we extended our stay. Would definetly recommend!

Camping on the river
Wow! What a special place! At first glance you might think it is just a parking lot but take just a moment to check out this beautiful spot on the river. We wondered at all the flora and fauna, picked wild blackberries, spent hours floating and sitting in the river relaxing, enjoyed the peaceful nights and watching the stars and the meteor shower under the wide open sky. We will definitely be back for more adventures in Micheal’s lovely campsite!

Will definitely return!
It was wonderful to camp on Michael's land! It was directly on the river with two small riverfront spots to relax. You can float down the river from upstream and stop at the BLM land boat launch next to the camp site. Fly fishing was great right from camp! Michael was a very communicative host. There is a picnic table, swing and fire pit provided.
