Laguna Mountain is one of the highest peaks in San Diego at an elevation of over 6,000ft. It's part of the Cleveland National Forest network and one of the most bio-diverse habitats in all of Southern California. It features some of the tallest pine, conifer and oak trees in the region, as well as beautiful open space preserves as far as the eye can see.
The area is extremely remote and secluded. Our glamping sites are located in the communal campgrounds of Laguna./El Prado & Burnt Rancheria campgrounds, right off Sunrise Highway. The closest town is Julian about 30 minutes away. It's about a 15 minute drive to Lake Cuyamaca. The drive along S1 Sunrise HWY is an experience in itself, with contrasting landscapes between our mountain forests and the Anza-Borrego desert.
Your site comes with a combination of both tree tents, bell tents and hammocks. Bell tents are fully outfitted and spacious with therapeutic mattress and / or sofa bed (s). They are staged with the ultimate comfort and luxury in mind, featuring rugs, plush floor pillows, solar powered lights and propane heater.
Our Tenstile tree tents are a lightweight treehouse that uses 3 anchor points to create a "living space" suspended between trees. Our Tentsiles are fun, safe & bring a whole new dimension to the camping experience.
Our elevated tree tents offer a very unique nature immersive and outdoor experience.
Your glamping site also comes with standard hotel amenities, private lounge area, outdoor kitchen space & outdoor fire-pit. Enjoy camping without the hassle!

If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
As an avid camper I’m used to bringing everything and then some and this was a nice surprise. Took my daughter for a graduation trip and we LOVED it!! My favorite part of the trip were the hammocks. So relaxing for reading, viewing the gorgeous forest, charcuterie and wine, and a game of gin rummy. Loved the Blackstone griddle, and all the solar lights and lanterns. The best was arriving and it’s all set up. Definitely planning two more trips in September and October when the leaves change colors. Thanks for an awesome trip.
This was our first glamping experience outside of cabins. Shantel did an amazing job by really thinking through every detail of what is required of guest at camping. My wife and kids all enjoyed this experience thoroughly of living in the wild and enjoying the camping experience without breaking our backs of sleeping on hard surfaces. She even went to an extent of getting us a jacket as I forgot to carry one for the cold nights.
Better than imagined!
Our stay was incredible! It was the first time my husband and I ever done glamping and literally everything exceeded our expectations :)
We were welcomed with open arms with Shantel giving us a thorough tour of the campsite. She gave us so many great recommendations regarding hikes, things to do in Julian, and kindly answered all of our questions. We were doing our best to prepare for the trip since it was our first time, but literally all the necessities we could ever think of bringing was already at our campsite (we just needed clothes and food).
My husband really enjoyed our time here, especially the stargazing, campfire, and the wonderful accommodations. Definitely would recommend!
My wife and I camp a lot and it was so great that we didn’t have to set up anything or take down anything. It made our time more enjoyable. The bed was amazingly comfortable tent was huge and kitchen setup and outdoor seating areas were great. O Ly thing I would have added to this would u e been some better outdoor solar lights but it wasn’t an issue as we brought our our own led lanterns which were perfect. Restrooms and shower accommodations were great and the fire wood was ready available anytime we needed it for a $6 charge which you leave with the guy that provides it. The ranger and area workers that maintain the camp are
Great and helpful if you have any questions. Lake Cuyamaca is only a 15 minute drive where you can fish from shore or rent a motor boat. The cost for this is perfect you could ask for better accommodations or hosts to book this. Shantel was great and always answering our questions before during and after our stay. We will be returning next year in the summer and will be making it a huge family trip with extended family members. Thanks again for a great weekend getaway Shantel👍👍👍👍
Comfortable camping with kids
We had the most incredible glamping experience at Bell Tents on Mt. Laguna last weekend. It snowed 18 inches the night before our arrival and we almost canceled the trip and we are so glad that we did not.
It was a surreal experience to wake up surrounded by a winter wonderland. It was a cold night but they provided a lot of blankets for the beds. The kitchen tent was warm and dry so we were still able to cook meals. And the restroom was nearby so that was easy too. We used both tents as we were two adults and four children and the kids all loved the experience too. We can't wait to go back in the summer.
A family must
Absolutely LOVED our time here! Shantel was extremely kind and helpful. You literally only need to bring food and clothes! Everything else is provided. We just left today and already want to go back!
PS the mattresses were super comfy (not what I was expecting for “camping” at all!)
The site was huge, the bed was comfy and cozy, and we were very thankful for the heaters on two cold nights! Shantel was easy to be in touch with and gave us all the info we needed to have a nice stay. :)
Shantel made our stay very nice! She even had a sign waiting for my daughter for her birthday. It was a special event for sure!!
Also we were provided with everything - we didn’t even need lighter fluid!
Private, maintained, beautiful area
We loved this site. The yurts were clean and well maintained, and the kitchen was stocked just enough with pans & utensils. The host was also very communicative and responded quickly to any questions I had. The only downside was the location of the bathrooms. The bathrooms close by were composting toilets, so you had to walk a ways for a bathroom with a flushing toilet and sink. Otherwise I'd highly recommend this spot!
