The spacious two bedroom 1940s Rock homesteader cabin on acreage has a great outdoor space for entertaining. Take in the expansive views in every direction from the porch swing, fire up the grill, and enjoy the starry skies as you gather around the fire pit. The cabin is one of the oldest structures in the area and is said to have been built before the existence of La Contenta Road. We imagine that the rocks used, which are not native to the area, must have been transported across the desert landscape by Model T. Luckily, we've got roads now! The house sits at the corner of La Contenta and Covington Flats, a little-known "back" entrance to the national park, away from the crowds. Many artistic touches inside and out. This house is great for adventurous families and groups of friends. Plenty of parking.

We had a very fun stay and at the Joshua Tree Rock House!

The outdoor area was generous, pretty and quiet. I would recommend the Rockhouse for outdoor and adventure lovers.

We loved the big fireplace by the little outdoor cabin and enjoyed two wonderful evenings by the fire place.

After our early morning trip to Joshua Tree we came back in the early afternoon and had a wonderful Easter Sunday afternoon in the shade under the cabana and slowly watched the day go by. We were even lucky enough to see two road runners running back and forth in the yard for a while.

The kitchen is equipped with everything you need for either a barbeque outside or to cook a nice meal inside.

The only two things that we would suggest to improve is that there was some litter left on the lot, two slightly creepy dolls in the outside daybed and one in one of the bedrooms. But we just put the one from the bedroom in the living room on the couch and covered it with a blanket during our stay so it didn't have to freeze at night because it had no clothes on ;)

Kinda funky, but it grew on us daily. We utilized almost every table, chair and lounge chair. Found some cots that we utilized. Would definitely use again

The weekend we stayed was 90 degrees or more but inside the cabin was very comfortable to our surprise which made our stay very enjoyable. We visited Joshua tree during the day and came back at night time with no issues. The drive going to the cabin makes you feel like you are at Joshua tree park because of the scenery and the sunset is very pretty. Fenced in yard for our pups, wifi available, bring your laptop if you feel like watching stuff since no tv here but books and board games galore. Farmers market on saturdays! Keys view point is our favorite spot in Joshua tree if you are going to drive around, saw fox, kangaroo rat and a bunch of road runners:) Lori is easy to reach for questions. Great trip!

A fun cabin style accommodation with a 2-bed, 1-bath main house and separate rear shed bedroom. The property offers amazing views of the flamingo hills and has some fun decor to tinker with and explore.
Overall was a great, eclectic spot to bring my family to for a weekend in Joshua Tree.

Everything was just as expected. Quiet and secluded. Loved driving the dirt roads, right next to Joshua Tree, stars blazing, camp fires and days adventuring with friends. We wanted something that was part of the vibes of the desert community with the character of the community and the area. So much fun
