Enjoyed our sta
Very lovely property, remote and with great access to Redwoods, the Coast, and some very delicious roadside strawberries. I recommend to fellow travelers, but would note that the property is rented out to campers as well and the house is close by, so you won't be by yourself. However, the hosts were warm and the campers kept to themselves. We grilled for dinner, saw some incredible stars, had a truly blissful outdoor shower. Enjoy!
It *is* a magical yurt!
Wow. My friend and I drove up from the Bay to go camping had a rough day with a car breaking down,
My friend and I ended up being stranded after a long, rough day of car trouble and we didn’t know where we’d be able to sleep. Jay & Pendra took us in on late notice and the yurt is AMAZING. Even thought we got in late at night they were so kind, welcoming and helpful, and we were so relieved and grateful to have ended up with them.
The yurt is big and beautiful, the beds are comfy & there’s a hammock right outside. We’d definitely stay again. Book it!!
This yurt is truly located in a magical space among the redwood and pine. The only sounds to be heard were the wind through the trees and birds, and from the garden at night you can see every single star and planet there is to see—a wonderful refuge from city life. There is a beautiful hiking trail, Thimbleberry, just about 15 minutes driving from the home was well that can keep you occupied all day (bring rain boots for creek crossing!) .
The yurt itself is welcoming and bright between the massive skylight above during the day and the twinkling lights, wood stove and beautiful rugs and bedding around the structure when the sun goes down. Hi The piano was delightful. The composing toilet was immaculate and impressively engineered. Also, the nearby town of Willits has everything a city dweller could want if one wants a wood fried pizza or a latte in the midst of a nature commune.
Jay and Pendry were welcoming but hands off which was just perfect. It was easy to come in and out of the property. Our dog had lots of space to run around and was sad to leave. We felt safe and felt no need to lock the door or car at night. This was truly a glamping experience I relished. Thank you for having us, Pendry and Jay.
Pendry and Jay were wonderful hosts. They were available for any questions and gave me directions to local hiking. And the yurt is great: I had all that I needed. A comfortable bed, plenty of wood for the fireplace, filtered water, and a piano. My dog had a great time running around with their friendly dog, Bear. The composting toilet is clean and convenient. Note: there is no kitchen and only cold water comes out of the tap in the bathroom. I had a wonderful time and I'll definitely be returning!
We had a magical time here and I would recommend it to anyone. Campfire with stargazing, spacious yurt with the coziest beds, adorable compost toilet, outhouse, and sweet dog. Our hosts were lovely and offered us great hiking suggestions. My only regret is I wish we had stayed longer!
Loved this yurting experience!
What a wondrous weekend in this yurt under the stars! Pendry, Jay, and their funny and warm pup Bear greeted us upon arrival, helping us get settled in and advising on hikes and eats (highly recommend the Russian Gulch hike, about an hour away toward the coast, finished off with seafood at the woman-owned Princess Seafood Market!). The yurt and surrounding areas are filled with intricate, thoughtful details, from comfy mattresses to useful signage and mini lights to assist with nighttime walking. Insulation of the yurt and the wood stove were phenomenal at night! With a metal grate and tongs we brought, the outdoor fire pit turned into a fun BBQ, and we loved the closeness of extra firewood. Roll in before night falls to enjoy the fun mile hike around the property amongst the redwoods.
