Pendry and Jay’s yurt is wonderfully cozy and nestled into the woods, with a round skylight in the middle that lets you see the trees and moon. The woodburning stove and heavy blankets kept us warm in January, and the bed was super comfortable.
FYI there is a camping stove and kettle, but no cookware/cups/utensils, so make sure to bring those things if you want to make dinner! It’s pretty far and dark to drive anywhere.
This place was so special! We went during a rainy weekend, and the wood burning stove kept us all cozy and toasty. Lil Bear, their sweet pup, showed us around the trail behind the house. If you're looking for a magical forest getaway, this is your spot!! Will definitely be returning!
This was my best Glamping experience, for me, so far. Pendry, Jay, and their dog Bear were such great hosts, thank you so much!
The place was well maintained and had so much to offer within it, even during the rainy weekend my friends and I visited.
They have a sauna, hot tub, stargazing field, a massive yurt, comfortably big enough for a large group (6-8), hiking trail nearby which was short, moderate and wonderful. Truly a magical experience! I would definitely highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to get away for the weekend :)
Wow, this is what you visit hipcamp for. Just be sure you're comparing it to camping, not a hotel. The yurt is huge... Maybe 30 feet across. It has a wood burning stove but without good air control, so I thought I would be freezing all night. Instead, the blankets on the beds were so warm, I was hot. It's out in the woods with a little trail to explore. If you find yourself in Willits in need of a glamping spot, this is unique.
Loved this yurting experience!
What a wondrous weekend in this yurt under the stars! Pendry, Jay, and their funny and warm pup Bear greeted us upon arrival, helping us get settled in and advising on hikes and eats (highly recommend the Russian Gulch hike, about an hour away toward the coast, finished off with seafood at the woman-owned Princess Seafood Market!). The yurt and surrounding areas are filled with intricate, thoughtful details, from comfy mattresses to useful signage and mini lights to assist with nighttime walking. Insulation of the yurt and the wood stove were phenomenal at night! With a metal grate and tongs we brought, the outdoor fire pit turned into a fun BBQ, and we loved the closeness of extra firewood. Roll in before night falls to enjoy the fun mile hike around the property amongst the redwoods.
We had a magical time here and I would recommend it to anyone. Campfire with stargazing, spacious yurt with the coziest beds, adorable compost toilet, outhouse, and sweet dog. Our hosts were lovely and offered us great hiking suggestions. My only regret is I wish we had stayed longer!
