River Willow Cabin on Kern River

We loved everything about staying at River Willow. The house had everything we needed to be comfortable and having access to a private beach on the river was ideal. Some days we went the full day without seeing another person! We’ll be back again.

This is my new happy place! Everything was perfect, good for the soul. Authentic, legit, magical, classic, cozy, and clearly well-loved. Such thoughtful attention to detail the likes of which I have never experienced in a rental cabin before. Can't wait until my next visit.

Rod and Carol are the most amazing host. The place is so magical. It has everything you need and more. We had a wonderful white Christmas. Rod and Carol even had the sweetest little Christmas Tree set up in the living room which was absolutely perfect. The place was so cozy and perfect. I personally never wanted my mini vacation to end. I can not wait to come back. Thank you again to the most amazing host Rod and Carol they really but their heart and soul into making this place the perfect get away.

The cabin is a gem. Built with bricks in 1953, it brims with personality and thoughtfulness in decor. Has everything you can possibly need, indoors and out. There’s two main bedrooms - one of which is up by ladder in the loft. The third bedroom is small and attached to the other main bedroom downstairs. Ideal for a kid! Amazing views in every room. Carol and Rod were very accommodating answering my silly questions (read the House Manual, it’s all in there). I only hope that other guests treat it like responsible house guests and treasure it like the special, magical place that cannot just be bought.

The Kern River House is amazing. Pics will never do it justice. They literally have everything you could ever need to have a great family vacation- down to creamer in the fridge. I cannot wait to stay in this house again or one of their other properties as they are amazing hosts. Any question I had was answered within 5 mins.

The River is literally steps away and you can find a secluded spot to hang so easily. The little city of Kernville is perfect- yummy food and beautiful landscapes anywhere you look.

We cannot say enough good things about our stay at The River Willow Cabin. We almost are inclined not to leave a review so that we can have the cabin to ourselves and book the rest of the year at this absolutely charming and lovely gem in Kernville. Rod & Carol were fabulous hosts. Their attention to detail is top notch. Every amenity you could think of was waiting for us when we arrived. The cabin felt like home and you even have your own private “beach” at the river. Do yourself a favor and book a stay here.

This place is pure magic. One of those you don’t want to review because I’ll never get to book it again. Everything was 5 stars. Highly recommend.

This was such a beautiful cabin in such a gorgeous setting. So much love went into this cabin & it shows in all the little details. From the river rock outlined trails in back that lead you along the river, to the outdoor shower nestled into the oak trees next to the back porch with its amazing view, there are so many little details that add to this already amazing cabin. Everything in the design of river willow cabin seems to have been planned out just perfectly.
Our hosts, Rod & Carol, were wonderful too. They were easy to communicate with & went out of their way to be sure we had everything we needed. This very welcoming cabin was quiet, extremely clean & really could not have been more perfect!
