The ValleyView area sites have it all.Ā Ā To see an overview of all sites at this property do a web search for "The Preserve at Temecula Creek Video" which can be found on our websiteĀ pupterra.com, YouTubeĀ Pupterra AdventuresĀ or InstagramĀ @pupterra.

In the ValleyView area there are two sites that both give you a lot of space to spread out and include a tent/car/camper clearing up top with views directly into the mountains along with tent clearings set far back into the small valley.Ā  Site 1 backs right up to Cleveland National Forest for additional exploration, and has a very private tent area surrounded by trees for sun and wind protection.Ā  Site 2 has a large tent area set way back along a hill for wind protection and the option to climb the hill for a birds eye view.Ā  Site two is also quite convenient to wander over to the guest hangout for easy access spread out even further and use some of those amenities.

The Preserve at Temecula Creek has a nice guest hangout area in the center of the property that all guests can use with a geodome, hammock, charcoal grill, dog gazebo, wood burning fire pit, lounge chairs and sun shades.

What is Pupterra Adventures?Ā WeĀ turned our passion for outdoor adventure into a small sideĀ business called "Pupterra Adventures"Ā in 2020.Ā  In April 2020 we purchased the property now calledĀ The Preserve at Temecula Creek, and in March 2021 purchasedĀ The Preserve at Aguanga Ranchos.Ā  While it wasn't our initialĀ intent to host guests on the land, we gave it a try - ended up loving hosting/sharing the land - and now we spend nearly all of our free time working on restoring the land while creating a special and unique guest experience for our visitors.Ā In addition to running The Preserve properties, Pupterra Adventures tries to find ways to make it easier for you to find your next adventure by sharing guides, maps, gear and off-road camp trailer resources and recommendations.Ā

How do the properties differ?Ā We get this question a lot.Ā  The properties are more similar than they are different so letā€™s start with that. The properties are 2.6 Miles (~15 minutes) apart from each other.Ā  To keep things easy, we offer every site across both propertiesĀ at the same nightly rate for 4 guests, with some of the smaller sites priced for two at a lower cost point.Ā  All sites allow for instant booking, 1 night minimums and the most flexible cancelation policy available. Both properties are set up for ā€œWilderness+ā€ camping experience; remote yet 4G LTE connected on a safe and established private property. Neither property has utilities, nor water and provide a porta-potty toilet. Guests are expected to ā€œleave no traceā€ and pack out all waste after their stay. Personal (or rental) propane fire pits and grills are allowed on all guest sites, with wood burning fire options available to all guests as described in each individual site listing. All sites have tables as described in the listing details with Guest Hangout areas on the property for some extra comfort, fun and gathering space.Ā  Our guests visit to decompress and disconnect.Ā  Quiet hours are 9PM to 9AM on both properties.Ā  We are dog lovers and encourage guests to bring well-behaved pets.Ā  We ask that they stay on leash/lead while on the property for their safety and the safety of others. When camping at one of The Preserve properties you can expect beautiful surroundings, room to spread out and explore, proximity to many outdoor adventures in the area, responsive hosts and cool guests sharing the property (over half of our guests are now repeat visitors ā€“ and these properties seem to draw very chill outdoor adventure enthusiasts).Ā  We do not live on either property which gives you even more privacy, but also limits immediate on-site support.Ā  We employ local guest experience managers to help maintain the property and to remain on call for immediate guest needs.

The Preserve at Temecula CreekĀ is surrounded on all sides by Cleveland National Forest and requires a two mile ascent on aĀ high vehicle clearanceĀ dirt fire road.Ā  We suggest high clearanceĀ AWDĀ as our standing ā€˜recommendationā€™ because it will apply to any weather/road condition throughout the year.Ā  We allow for trailers and campers on this property but strongly suggest that they beĀ off-road capableĀ (smaller, good clearance, independent suspension or torsion axles).Ā  This property is a favorite for overlanders and off-road enthusiasts.Ā  The fire road that runs through the center of the property continues up and through Cleveland National Forest to the High Point Fire Lookout and then back down Palomar Divide Road. Ā

The Preserve at Aguanga RanchosĀ is more accessible toĀ all vehiclesĀ andĀ larger trailers/campers.Ā  It is also very private, however, it is surrounded by private property ā€“ which limits guests to the 25 acres for exploration.Ā  Aguanga Ranchos isĀ more traditional.Ā  Each site has a large heavy-duty picnic tables and a wood burning fire pit w/ a grill insert and spark screen.Ā  This property is higher in elevation than Temecula creek, and the landscape is different ā€“ with large boulder fields and rock outcroppings throughout.

One of my best Hipcamp experiences ever. The location was lovely, the amenities a great addition (the guest hangout area was a bit hit with my kids!), and the communication exceptional. I was incredibly impressed with receiving personal messages from Bob himself as well as meeting one of his staff members who came out one day in the late afternoon to check on everyone and ask if we needed anything, as well as to make sure everyone knew about everything they had access to. She was really nice and very helpful. Definitely would stay here again and recommend to anyone (just keep in mind the road really does require a high clearance vehicle). Thank you!

Always a great time staying here. Saw hundreds of shooting stars and really emptied the common area. However this was likely the last time Iā€™ll be able to get my car up the road. My Honda Civic is getting a lil roughed up. Fortunately thereā€™s another site just down the road that I can still visit and enjoy just as well!

The place was good with standard facilities and some of the spot has good views of valley, dark night sky for star gazing. The last dirt road leading to the spot is rough, even though two wheel drive car will make it but high ground clearance like SUV is recommended.

This campsite ~25 mins outside of Temecula was fantastic! The road up to the sites is admittedly rough (as Bob mentions in the description), however, we were able to make it up and back successfully in a Hyundai Elantra. We didnā€™t get a chance to meet Bob in person, but you can tell he put quite a bit of work into these sites on this beautiful piece of land. Stargazing and sunrises were spectacular. Thanks, Bob!

Disclaimer: it ended up being too hot when we went so we did not actually stay the night. However, we thought the camp site was so beautiful. There are lots of great informational videos that made us feel very prepared getting to the camp site and Bob was extremely responsive to all our questions. We will definitely be back to stay in the cooler months!

This is a great camp site. We really enjoyed our stay at Valleyview #1. The site felt private without being completely cut-off from other campers in the area.

It was exactly what I was looking for! A really remote and quiet place, , smack dab in the middle of beautiful wilderness, not too far outside San Diego.
As long as you bring everything you need, this place will provide the scenery and openness
Suggestion: Listen to Bob. He's really helpful and responsive.
Overall totally relaxing, quiet, and GREAT scenery. I'll be back!

I always love staying here. So cool to have a family of quail living just a few yards away and hearing them wale up in the morning. I was able to get set up surrounded by trees for privacy and a slight break from the wind. The guest hang out is SO cool and a big plus-like having a living room at your camp site. The provided fire pit with lid allowed me to safely warm up on the cold night but it far from where I set up my tent so consider renting a portable one from Bob. Donā€™t be like me and forget a sleeping bag for warmth!! Its cold at night and warm during the day (perfect). The road is rough but with care and experience my Honda Civic made it up and down no problem-be careful if in a small coupe.
