This is our second time to this lil slice of heaven. First time we stayed in Mountain View. Now we picked backcountry 1 for a bit more privacy and wow it did not disappoint. The views are amazing. The sky always seems to put on a show when we are here. The drive in is fun (4x4 recommended) but not technical. The only downsides are there is no trash pickup and you can't have a wood fire in your own area (but in California it seems to be the same everywhere).

We love it here and haven't found anything like it in the area. We will be back again!

Great place! Our site was a bit higher than we expected but it gave us a great view. The site was clean and the trail up was very easy to navigate. Our host was very attentive. He communicated with us the entire time and accommodated our needs. Definitely looking forward to visiting again!

This is our second time at Bob's property. We stayed in Aguanga last time and had a great time. We stayed at Backcountry 1. The view was gorgeous and the camp site was excellent - there is a nice wooden platform to set your tent up due to the uneven surface. We stayed in December and it was very cold and windy. Please keep the wind in mind when planning and make sure to guy your tent down very well before going to bed. Dress warm! Perfect weather during the day.

We had an amazing stay at Bobs place. Such beautiful views and off the beaten path. We stayed at Backcountry 1 which definitely had the best view point.
Highly recommend and canā€™t wait to visit again!

We loved our stay here over the Thanksgiving holiday. My boyfriend, our 2 dogs, and I camped here in our car tent and we felt so secluded. We loved the 360 views of the mountains and enjoyed having the entire place to ourselves most of the trip. Even when others arrived, the areas are super spaced out and we had lots of privacy. It got pretty windy our first night but calmed down and the weather was wonderful. The amenities were all we needed and we can definitely see ourselves returning here. As others have said, make sure you can have a vehicle that can handle the climb up the last 2 miles because it's definitely a bumpy ride. The hosts were super responsive and accommodating as well. It was everything we hoped for!

Ample room for our car, car tent, and room for the dogs to walk on their leads.360 views

My family and I stayed 2 nights and absolutely loved it. It was the first time our boys (11 & 7) had been camping that they can remember and had a ball. Bob was an excellent host and the scenery was awesome. I would definitely recommend this site!

This place was perfect! It was the hipcamp we've been hoping for. The drive to the site definitely needs four wheel drive with large ruts in the road but it helps make you feel secluded. Once you make it to the sites they are well marked and each have a table. There is a porta-potty as well and communal area with fire pits. The stars were absolutely gorgeous and site 2 makes you feel on top of the world.
