BackCountry is my personal favorite camping area on The Preserve at Temecula Creek.  There are two sites, both with amazing views set far back along the ridge overlooking the mountains. Site 1 is tent only and has short 4x4 driveway up to the parking spot (or park across the road with your 2WD).  Hike in about 100 yards to the large sandy tent clearing with unbeatable views.  Site 2 is the is the furthest site from others and has a large parking area with easy access for tents, cars and trailers.  Site two also includes two additional tent clearings with stunning views of the mountains. BackCountry area is set far way from the others and gives you great privacy and solitude.  For larger groups you can book both sites for the ultimate BackCountry experience where everyone can spread out at night, and gather together in one of the large clearings during the day and for meals.

The Preserve has multiple Guest Hangout areas with shared amenities, including fire pits, hammock, picnic tables, sun shade, dog pen & gazebo, food prep stations and a camp toilet with privacy tent. Garbage/Camp Toilet bags are restocked weekly in the Camp Kit at each site.

Bob is a great host and the site was well kept and fairly secluded from the rest of the property. The signage at the site and the YouTube video with directions and details were very helpful and a step above compared to most of the Hipcamps I've stayed in previously. Highly recommend for an easy getaway in a beautiful setting with sweeping views to the north and the foothills of Palomar Mountain to the south. The area is nicely graded with two tent pads on either end of the site and a large flat area in the middle. Plenty of exploring to do on the fireroad, too!

Camping at BACKCOUNTRY was an adventure the whole way through. It’s far from any stores so be sure you have everything you need prior to arrival, it’s about a 40 minute drive to the nearest shopping center. Host was responsive and professional. We enjoyed camping as much as we did hiking around the area. I would absolutely camp here again.

This was an awesome camping site! So many beautiful views all over. If you are into offroading, this is a perfect spot to stay in either to get up early and hit the trails or have a great place to stay after a long day. We will definitely be back...thanks for everything!

Great spot! We found it on a whim and were able to book and Bob messaged within minutes of detailed directions to the site. Very private and great spots- we had a small SUV and teardrop and had plenty of space to pull in the site. The solar loghts around the site were perfect for after dark arrival. Highly recommend!!!

Had a great weekend camping! Directions were great. Really liked how secluded our site was...stayed at Backcountry. Site was clean. Road was bumpy but totally fine if you go slow, have an Outback and it handled great. Bob was very helpful and nice, will definitely be back. Was a close getaway to hike, stargaze, and unplug. (phone still worked too)

We loved our stay at The Preserve! There was space for our truck and small trailer at the site where we stayed. The common guest area set up was clean and tidy. The directions were clear. Bob responded quickly when I texted him a question. Can’t wait to go back.

When you see this sign you have arrived. Moonrise over our camp. The view as seen from a spot ~ 2 miles up the dirt road from The Preserve. When you see this sign you have arrived.

We had an amazing time here. It is so nice to get away and unwind. We have sprint and had good service. It was nice tobe able to wake up and go off roading. Beautiful views and so peaceful. Highly recommend. If you want the most privacy the Backcountry site is the best. Our family loved it here. We will definitely be back to visit.
