The Fireside sites are perfect for couples or smaller groups looking for a convenient and easy camping experience.  These sites are away from the other camping areas on the property yet still have the most convenient access to the guest hangout area. Fireside sites are set along the north border of the property with views of the surrounding mountains, and some neat rock features on and around the sites.  These sites are also set back away from the large boulder fields and steep drop-offs that you have on many of the other sites.  These could be a great/safe choice if you have young children or pets that have a tendency to wander off.  These sites are all suitable for small camp trailers or vans, and are best suited for 1-2 vehicles and 1-2 tents. To see more details on the rules & safety notifications for this specific site, you can hit the "Book" button in this listing.  You will then see the details before committing/paying for anything.  You can also find more details through our Pupterra Adventures website pupterra.com

What is Pupterra Adventures? We turned our passion for outdoor adventure into a small side business called "Pupterra Adventures" in 2020. In April 2020 we purchased the property now called The Preserve at Temecula Creek and in March 2021 purchased The Preserve at Aguanga Ranchos.  While it wasn't our initial intent to host guests on the land, we gave it a try - ended up loving hosting/sharing the land - and now we spend nearly all of our free time working on restoring the land while creating a special & unique guest experience for our visitors. In addition to running The Preserve properties, Pupterra Adventures tries to find ways to make it easier for you to find your next adventure by sharing guides, maps, gear and off-road camp trailer resources and recommendations.

How do the properties differ? We get this question a lot. The properties are more similar than they are different so let’s start with that. The properties are 2.6 Miles (~15 minutes) apart from each other.  To keep things easy, we offer every site across both properties at the same nightly rate for 4 guests, with some of the smaller sites priced for two at a lower cost point.  All sites allow for instant booking, 1 night minimums and the most flexible cancelation policy available. Both properties are set up for “Wilderness+” camping experience; remote yet 4G LTE connected on a safe and established private property. Neither property has utilities, nor water and provide a porta-potty toilet. Guests are expected to “leave no trace” and pack out all waste after their stay. Personal(or rental) propane fire pits and grills are allowed on all guest sites, with wood burning fire options available to all guests as described in each individual site listing. All sites have tables as described in the listing details with Guest Hangout areas on the property for some extra comfort, fun& gathering space.  Our guests visit to decompress and disconnect.  Quiet hours are 9PM to 9AM on both properties.  We are dog lovers and encourage guests to bring well-behaved pets.  We ask that they stay on leash/lead while on the property for their safety and the safety of others. When camping at one of The Preserve properties you can expect beautiful surroundings, room to spread out and explore, proximity to many outdoor adventures in the area, responsive hosts and cool guests sharing the property (over half of our guests are now repeat visitors – and these properties seem to draw very chill outdoor adventure enthusiasts).  We do not live on either property which gives you even more privacy, but also limits immediate on-site support.  We employ local guest experience managers to help maintain the property and to remain on call for immediate guest needs.

The Preserve at Temecula Creek is surrounded on all sides by Cleveland National Forest and requires a two mile ascent on a high vehicle clearance dirt fire road.  We suggest high clearance AWD as our standing ‘recommendation’ because it will apply to any weather/road condition throughout the year.  We allow for trailers and campers on this property but strongly suggest that they be off-road capable (smaller, good clearance, independent suspension or torsion axles).  This property is a favorite for overlanders & off-road enthusiasts.  The fire road that runs through the center of the property continues up and through Cleveland National Forest to the High Point Fire Lookout and then back down Palomar Divide Road.

The Preserve at Aguanga Ranchos is more accessible to all vehicles and larger trailers/campers.  It is also very private, however, it is surrounded by private property – which limits guests to the 25 acres for exploration. Aguanga Ranchos is more traditional.  Each site has a large heavy-duty picnic tables and a wood burning fire pit w/ a grill insert and spark screen.  This property is higher in elevation than Temecula creek, and the landscape is different – with large boulder fields and rock outcroppings throughout.

Awesome spot with killer views and solitude. Newer fire pits and picnic tables conveniently located on site. Will be my new go to spot.

Great alternative to a public campground! We stayed 2 nights at Fireside 1 over memorial day weekend. The site was the perfect size for our Ford E250 Van. Dirt road to the site adds a little adventure to the trip, it was well maintained and not a problem for standard 2WD vehicle. If you have multiple vehicles or more than 2 people I would suggest the bigger Overlook or Observatory sites. Good views and good distance between other campsites. I would suggest bringing some type of shade cover to offer protection from the sun. There are some small trees surrounding the site but you will need some cover from the mid-day sun. Lots to do in the local area - hiking, exploring dirt roads, wineries, craft beer...
