Peaceful setting in the Carmel Valley area. Easy access to hiking in Ventana Wilderness and Arroyo Seco. Hosts were friendly and accommodating throughout our stay! Bonus for being dog friendly for those of us with canine companions:)
Michael was great, they said I could stay wherever I wanted so I set my tent up under a tree, I had power, WiFi and shade. I came back the next day and they had moved a picnic table right by my tent, I was able to park my car right by my tent. I came and went as I pleased. They had restroom facilities and a shower. Michael, mark and Kevin are good guys. They even invited me to hang out with them by their campfire.
Close to arroyo seco river!
I can see what Michael is trying to create. He did make a fire and set up a movie for us to watch. When we arrived there were very few people so we picked a site close to the bathroom. However, I was looking for a quiet evening and around 9 pm several people arrived and continued to arrive in cars, on motorcycles. Ultimately it made for a long night waiting for all the new arrivals to set up and wind down. It seems like it would be appropriate to stop check-ins past a certain time to be respectful to guests. Otherwise, I did enjoy our time. Also, the cover photo for the site is not at all what you are arriving at and there are many many roosters who crowed even before dawn and then a ton after the sun came up.
Road-trip in a camper van
hosts are kind and easy going. bathrooms are clean, showers are hot, and the peacocks make strange but enjoyable noises. we went down to big sur for the day and returned to a little community fire. great camp!
