Did not feel safe staying here
We were driving to the campground around 10 pm so it’s super dark and late. The long drive on stenmark which was about 2 miles long has all kind of abandoned houses on the one side as well as broken down cars. It was very secluded and only became more concerning as we pulled up to an entry fence that had barbed wire on it with an RV in the distance that had the word SECURITY on the side of it. We didn’t see any other RVS in site so that was concerning to us too. I didn’t have a good feeling so we left. We booked another campground. The next day we went back to give it another shot in the daylight. It was better in the day because we could see our surroundings but it’s so isolated that I was concerned for the safety of my young daughters that I know I wouldn’t have had a good night sleep. I know some people might appreciate how secluded it was, but since we’re not from the area I was actually not looking for seclusiveness. I was looking for a place I would feel safe taking my daughters and although the views were gorgeous I did not feel safe staying there. The reviews mention that it’s secluded but I had no about the unnerving road leading up to it. And that is was behind a barbed wire fence in an old industrial park
Nice bay view & quiet
The view over the Bay at sunset is incredible. I am car camping so this was perfect for me and I felt safe because of the locked gate to get in. I really enjoyed how quiet it was, yet how close you are to the city. I wouldn't recommend tent camping on the ground, it seemed pretty rocky and you might rip your tent, but perfect for car camping!
