Camping with a view
Loved camping here!!! Definitely recommend it to anyone. We had some good neighbors as campers.
You get nice horizon views for sunset and sunrise.
Really enjoyed the hospitality by the host. Quick responses.
Sketchy road to paradise
This was a well cared for and very nice campsite. It is easy to stay here and I didn’t really want to leave. Sunset and sunrise were magnificent and the honey pot toilet was nice and clean. The only difficulty was getting out there the road on its way is very sketchy. So if you have a big rig or some thing that can’t go down bumpy roads a very careful. Robert was a great host. Thank you for the good night
At first, I was a bit skeptical of this odd urban campground, but I slept very well and felt safe in my car here. Especially knowing that there is a huge fence and gate locking down the grounds with security stations at the entrance. The San Francisco side was windy, glad I didn’t pitch my tent. I would recommend car camping here.
Unconventional camping - still fun!
Terminal 4 was a last-minute change from our Sierra forest + river camping plans, scrapped due to smoke. Not really a conventional camping experience, as the sites are blocked out in a truck/RV/trailer parking lot. We stayed on the San Pablo Bay side - as advertised, less windy than San Francisco side, which had a great view. The SF side (A sites) was a large dirt parking lot w/ great views of the bay, near pottery shop and saunas. Port-a-potty at one end. The San Pablo Bay side (C sites) was between trailer parking and a junk yard, with a glamping Airstream on site. Both areas could access a narrow seashore. I loved the smell of the salt water!
Across from the large, gravel pads of the C sites was a wide dirt strip with rails. People in a tent camped on the dirt; Terminal 4 not really a great place for tent camping on the ground. C-1 is between Airstream and a tree w/ a picnic table. C-2 on the other side of the tree. The Port-a-potty, b/w C-2 and C-3, was very clean, including everything for hand washing. Water off due to the drought, as stated, and there was one electrical outlet available.
Overall, we came to enjoy this industrial-meets-saltwater experience. The BBQ place at the harbor was really good; there was also an evening concert - check schedule. The road in is not in good shape, and people going to 'overflow' parking for the harbor repeatedly sped through the C site camping area. Seemed pricey for what you get, but also quirky and unique. Maybe better w/ group?
We stayed here for one night. Arrived in the dark and left early morning. We had a restful night's sleep as it was very quiet and it was easy to get to. When we woke up in the morning we were surprised to see how close we were to the water. Nothing fancy but for the price it was great.
