Sunset views and miles of hiking by the Santa Margarita River. Perched atop a hillside the views are amazing from this over 3 acre property. Neighbors offer horseback riding along the river trails and you can book a ride. The river is just less than one mile from the property. Relax as you watch the hawks gliding along the breezes. Take a short drive to tour vineyards and wine tasting. Refresh, renew, invigorate, relax. Neighborhood is rich with orchards of avocados, olive trees, oranges and various other fruits. Hear the Coyotes howl at night and enjoy the bird songs while sipping your fresh coffee in the morning. Peaceful, Serene. A short drive or a little less than a mile walk to the trailhead of the Santa Margarita River (year round water flow) where you can enjoy hiking, biking and horseback riding. We are nestled close to nature with peaceful starry nights. We share this nature with wildlife like coyotes, snakes and hawks (as well as less harmful rabbits, squirrels, lizards and birds) so keep your dogs on a leash and be as cautious as you would be camping anywhere in nature. Use common sense and stay on trails at the campsite as well as when hiking by the river to help minimize risk. Campfires need to be small, contained and extinguished before going to bed and may not be allowed at all depending on the fire departments fire risk danger at the time of your stay... we are in a high fire risk area so need to be extra cautious. On the hike by the river you'll see the carved out bowls in the rocks where the Indians used to grind the acorns to make food. There is some poison oak off the trail at the river hike so again for your safety stay on the trails, which are wide and nice... great hiking! It's beautiful out here... come enjoy a little piece of this paradise with us! Communication is great and we're happy to accommodate... our home is on the property so please reach out if you need anything. We're here to help make your stay a great getaway! We are close to Camp Pendalton and occasionally they practice with their Army weapons so you may hear that. Most of the time the weather is perfect and there is a gentle breeze that blows through, but occasionally throughout the year the wind can pick up and get strong. If this happens on your stay we will do our best to accommodate you. For a few summer months the temperatures can be in the high 90's (mostly mid July - mid Oct) which makes wading in the river extra refreshing.

Great mtn views, stars, and shaded area to enjoy it all.
Very nice host. Even loaned us some gear when ours broke.
The lakes are close, beaches, etc. Nice hiking nearby as well. Overall, very nice trip.
Josh and his wife were super kind and helpful. While the area we camped in was well maintained, we were under the impression, based on the photos, that the location of the camp site was still somewhat secluded. it was definitely closer to the residential areas than we anticipated. If your looking for a clean and safe place to stay with amenities easy to access, it's a go to. All in all we had a nice night.
Josh's place is amazing! We were greeted by his wonderful family upon arrival and the spot for our Sprinter was perfect. No one else around and it was private and peaceful. We took advantage of the beautiful Santa Margarita River nearby for mountain biking and the town of Fallbrook was only 15 min. away. The views are spectacular and they left us a fantastic basket of fruit, avocadoes and freshly squeezed grapefruit juice. We will definitely be back.
Camping with an amazing view!
We loved staying here. The sunset view was amazing. Josh and Heather were great hosts. They showed us the property and had a table chairs ready for us to use. In the morning they gave us some freshly squeezed orange juice.
