Nourish yourself in nature in this luxury tent on a piece of property situated near the Los Padres Forest.  You can't help but completely relax with the vibe that envelops you as you step foot on the ground, and  takes you back to a slice of days gone by.   The main house is about 300 feet away from the tent, and you have a beautiful private bathroom close to the tent with an indoor toilet and shower.  To one side of the tent is a large picnic table for only you.  There is a gas BBQ grill, and an outdoor sink.  You'll need to bring your own food supplies, water, and sleeping bags, bedding/linens.

The property is completely fenced in, and just a 5 minute walk to the Carmel River, and a 1/4 mile hike to Los Padres Dam.  We are 25 minutes from the Carmel Valley Village.

There are two other rentals on the property, but each has it's own privacy the way they are situated.

There are chickens, and yes, a rooster that make up part of the eclectic farm.  We also have one very friendly dog, Ruby, and one cat, Cleo.

We had a lovely stay tucked away at this little country hideout. Jeff made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, which was particularly helpful because I misread the listing and thought there would be a full kitchen, rather than a grill and a fridge. Jeff promptly brought us plates and silverware, and pots and pans so we could cook on the grill and enjoy a lovely dinner in the barn-like setting. Playing with Ruby (the dog) was an added bonus!

My sister and I needed a quick getaway and this place was just the ticket. Jeff was so easy to work with. He met us right when we got there and explained the few little things we needed to know about the heater in the tent and then gave us a quick tour of the property. We even nibbled on the grapes in the arbor! My sister and I spent the afternoon and well into the evening in the cute “she shed” as we called it. Enjoyed a bottle of wine and relaxed in the great furniture in the she shed listening to all the crickets and owls. In the morning we woke up to farm animals sounds...chickens, roosters and the neighbors goats. It was marvelous. We also met Jeff’s wife, (Rose i think) and she told us a little about the history of the property. It seems like a bit of a drive to get out there but that was part of the experience. So totally worth it. Looking forward to staying again and again.

We really had a great stay at Quail Nest. The property is beautiful with a lot of artistic touches, you can pick raspberries, grapes, and the stars at night from the property are amazing. Jeff did a great job in his communication before arriving and was very nice to introduce the space to us.

Jeff’s property was amazing - there is a lot of outdoor space to hang out. There was a grill and refrigerator to store food. We primarily drove to Big Sur which wasn’t a bad distance. Also the propane heater was very nice!

One thing to note is that the roads are a bit windy.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay. A beautiful place, warm and friendly hosts, and a neighbor who just might ask you if you want to hold a baby goat. Bring sleeping bags for the air mattress because it pulls out all your body heat and you will be cold! We’re already looking forward to when we can come back :)

Jeff was a great host when we arrived he gave us a tour of the grounds, hand picked vegetables from the garden and provided us with fresh eggs and potatoes for breakfast. Quaint little farm vibes. Bring your swim suits there is a waterhole just down the road 5 min walk. Bring a board game and hangout in the rustic bar/ chill shack! The bathroom and shower were great, wonderful way to wake up and refresh. BBQ just outside the tent for dinner or lunch (bring your own pan and utensils/plates) Jeff was kind enough to supply us with plates, forks, knives and a pan to cook our taco meat. Overall great stay would recommend to friends or family.

Pictures did not do this place justice, the property is absolutely beautiful with interesting vintage pieces nestled about & every amenity you could need for a comfortable stay. There is an absolute idyllic swimming hole just a few minutes away, and Ruby the dog was the best.
