Campsite #3, aka "Sunset Point," has a picnic table, a fire pit, and a great view. It is the most popular site because of its isolation from the main house and incredible views. A vintage trailer is parked at this site. You can check it out if you prefer a roof over your head. Please be aware that it is a bit of a walk up to the bath house for a flush toilet and shower (there is a latrine at the site) and that the walking loop passes right next to campsite #3.
- Get directions at the main house or follow the signs if no one is home.
- There is a simple latrine at each site. A full bath house with a flush toilet and hot shower is available next to the main house. A water spigot is attached to the main house.
- There are miles of trails to hike or to ride dirt bikes/mountain bikes on. There is a marked walkable loop around the property that will take about 1 hr 30 min.
- Spare camping supplies are available by the bath house if you forget something! Ask ahead if you need to borrow a specific item.
More about the property: I built my home high upon a southern ridge. Watching the river of coastal fog flow in and out below me is one of the most wonderful views to behold! I have 30 acres of land to explore and camp upon in the surrounding redwood forest.
10 miles east are Montgomery Woods redwood preserve with GIANT trees, and a little farther, perhaps a mile is the famous Orr Hot Springs Resort. If you drive a half hour west from my land you will be in the coastal Mendocino village.

Absolutely beautiful!!! The perfect getaway for a night! Stunning views. Private. Quiet. Cosmo was a great host, extremely accommodating and friendly. The super delicious tuna was an unexpected perk.

Cosmo’s camp was so beautiful and isolated. It had everything we couldn’t asked for and the view was incredible. This site is along the road where others drive/ walk but you still have plenty of privacy and the view more than makes up for any interruptions. Cosmo was available if we needed anything and was super welcoming. We’re definitely coming back!

My plans changed and I wasn’t able to make it to Cosmos camp unfortunately - but it seems like an amazing spot and I cant wait to check it out another time. Cosmo was a great communicator as well!
Great spot! Loved how each campsite was secluded enough to not feel like there were other people around. Beautiful views and Cosmo was very accommodating. Only thing that would have been helpful is knowing that the water spigot was a bit of a walk away from the campsite itself. Not a deterrent but would have brought bigger containers for filling up.
Cosmo and his partner were so accommodating to us when we arrived! Cool place and cool guy to talk with for a bit. It was a rainy day but it was still beautiful and each campsite has its own charm.
Cosmo’s Camp: Campsite 3 was so much fun! Beautiful views of the Mendocino Redwoods and the stars at night were unbelievable!
Would recommend this place to anyone, it was perfect!
