Very beautiful & convenient location!
Window Rock: This beautiful spot can accommodate up to 2 adults ( total of 4 people if coming with children. Children no charge). A 7x9 foot tent or smaller is recommended for this site. (A tent and sleeping pads can be set up and waiting for you if desired, see add on below.) A very small 1 person or child’s tent could be set up additionally, if the first tent is smaller. Parking for 1 car about 125 feet from site is available. (*No vehicle camping/sleeping.) Be aware that a short walk up a path and steps is required to get to the site. The private compost toilet is at the site. We have a second campsite (Shady Pines) that is just above this one. It may or may not be occupied while you are visiting. Toilet: Composting “Luggable Loo” provided in a private close by location. Other Details and Considerations: > We are a family Hip Camp with children, pets (two dogs and a cat), and neighbors (about 275 feet away) > Road Noise -- We live close to Highway 154, which means we are close and quick to many places but also hear some traffic noise from this two-lane road. Please take this into consideration before booking. Most people aren’t too bothered by it (and some compare the sound to waves as they come and go). > FIRE BAN -- Absolutely no fire! We live in an extremely high-risk fire area with very dry vegetation, so no campfires, propane stoves, candles, smoking, incense, lighters, matches, etc. > Arrival and departure -- Arrival between 4-10 pm. Departure by 1:00 pm. ~ We suggest that you arrive during daylight for easier setup and orientation to the land and your campsite. If you need to arrive after dark, please let us know so we can best guide you when you arrive. > Quiet hours -- Very quiet from 10:30pm to 7:30am, Semi quiet in the evening from 9:00-10:30 and in the morning till 8:00 am. Thank you for your consideration of others and of our neighbors. > Musical instruments, or music—Live music is greatly welcomed! Playing pre-recorded music on devices is allowed if the volume is low and is used in consideration of others and during non-quiet hours. > Intoxicants -- Please no illegal drugs or excessive use of legal substances, this is a family friendly camp :-) > Parking – We have a somewhat bumpy driveway that is quite steep. Most cars are able to drive up, but very low cars are not recommended. If you have a very low car, you can contact me to see if I can accommodate with a farther parking arrangement during the time of your desired stay. Also please let me know if you have an extra large van or truck, we are not be able to accommodate oversized vehicles. > Children – We love to have children come :-) Be aware that we are on a mountain, therefore there are slopes where small children/toddlers will need to be watched more carefully.

Tent site under pines and boulders
The tent site is below a cool rock that is wind sculpted. We had lots of privacy because there were no other guests at this time. It might not be so if the site above was occupied. There is a clean and private bucket/compost toilet, an outdoor kitchen with plates, refrigerator and electricity. We were greeted by a friendly and helpful worker who brought us drinking water and fresh picked fruit. The property is a work in progress, but a funky and relaxing respite from the SoCal fast pace. The downsides were hearing the road traffic below, which didn’t bother me, but might some, and lots of flies during the day. Also, the short but steep hill up to the property is a little daunting.
We booked this very last minute, but Mila was super responsive. Cool property with great views, our site felt pretty private too (but that may have been because nobody had booked the site next to us). Fridge and running water were a really nice bonus. We were a little worried our 5-person tent (for 2 people lol) wouldn't fit but it worked out fine! Nice and shady in the morning too, which was a nice relief from the mid-July heat.
Great rock to tent camp
next to! Cozy and had all I needed (compost toilet, fridge, microwave) and was a beautiful drive (18mins) to and from SB. I felt safe here, and I do feel lucky nobody else was staying here, so if felt private. May not feel that way if camp above is booked. You can hear highway below, but it didn’t bother me. Check out Cold Spring Tavern and Chumash Cave paintings nearby. Thanks Mila! I hope to return.
Camping under the stars
Absolutely amazing campsite if you love the nature and falling asleep under the sky. Mila had arranged a beautiful tend with even a mattress. This campsite allows dogs which is so awesome.
I would totally return to this campsite :)
