Camp among a unique variety of trees --palms, pines, oaks, & chaparral. Very beautiful & convenient location!

Be aware that a short walk up a path and steps is required to get to the site. The compost toilet is about 80 feet up a path. We have a second campsite (Window Rock) that is just below this one. It may, or may not be occupied while you are visiting. If you have a larger group, you may book both spots! The tent area has shade earlier in the day. Also, we do not have bears, so you don’t need to lock food up! Fires NOT allowed. NO propane cook stoves. *Please read this entire post before booking. *Note check in (4 pm) , and check out (1 pm) times.

We are a health- and eco-conscience family aiming to live lightly on the land. We are pleased to be able to offer a place for like-minded travelers to come and enjoy a convenient and inspiring camping experience. Amenities: Kitchen shared by 1-3 camping sites. Sink shared by 1-2 campsites. Other Details and Considerations: * We are a family Hip Camp with children, pets (two dogs and a cat), and neighbors (about 275 feet away) * Road Noise -- We live close to Highway 154, which means we are close and quick to many places but also hear traffic noise from this two-lane highway. Please take this into consideration before booking. Most people aren’t too bothered by it (and some compare the sound to waves as they come and go). * FIRE BAN -- Absolutely no fire! We live in an extremely high-risk fire area with very dry vegetation, so no campfires, cook stoves, candles, smoking, incense, lighters, matches, etc. * Arrival and departure -- Arrival between 4-10 pm. Departure by 1:00 pm. (We suggest that you arrive during daylight for easier setup and orientation to the land and your campsite. If you need to arrive after dark, please let us know so we can best guide you when you arrive.) * Quiet hours -- Very quiet from 10:30pm to 7:30am, Semi quiet in the evening from 9:00-10:30 and in the morning till 8:00 am. Thank you for your consideration of others and of our neighbors. * Musical instruments, or music—Live music is greatly welcomed! Playing pre-recorded music on devices is allowed if the volume is low and is used in consideration of others and during non-quiet hours. * Intoxicants -- Please no illegal drugs or use of legal substances to the point of intoxication, whereas your judgement for safety and consideration is impacted. * Parking – We have a somewhat bumpy driveway that is quite steep. Most cars are able to drive up fine. Please let me know if you have an extra large van or truck, we might not be able to accommodate large vehicles. * Children – We love to have children come! Be aware that we are on a mountain, therefore there are slopes where small children/toddlers will need to be watched more carefully.

Really nice and serene place to camp. The property is beautiful and also super interesting to see as Mila and her husband built everything themselves. Santa Barbara is really close and you can see the ocean from the property. We really had a great stay!

Mila’s land was exactly as pictured and described. She was so gracious, accepting my same day request and communicating promptly. The wifi was a bit spotty but my cell service worked just fine. This site overlooks another site so you will be able to hear and see each other, but this wasn’t an issue for my stay. The drinking water and other kitchen amenities were so nice to have. I would recommend Mila’s unique property!

A perfect simple rustic respite. Mila was kind and accommodating.

Coolest part was it was a 10 minute drive to Lake Cachuma, which featured a beautiful sunset. Sleeping amoung a the trees, sky and moon was my favorite part. ❤️

Nestled amongst sandstone bluffs, our tent site was perfectly flat and big enough for our 10X10 dome tent. The photo's described on the website made the site's look tiny, but actually there was plenty of room. The driveway is steep and the trail up to the tent sites is steeper, so be prepared for that if you want to carry heavy gear to your camp. The outdoor kitchen has everything for 4 people including a microwave, toaster and a refrigerator. Each campsite has a sink and running water. To cook there you must only use what is there, as personal stoves are prohibited. On our stay we enjoyed warm, balmy weather as well as foggy and windy weather. Somehow, the campsites were largely protected from the prevailing winds, which was delightful. The setting is beautiful and our host was wonderful too.

Beautiful property! Mila and Rob were super friendly and accommodating, and the love and effort they’ve put into cultivating their land is quite obvious. We had a lovely time exploring Santa Barbara and this was a nice place to come and cook a meal and sleep. Will definitely come back :)

Thank you, Mila for being able to accommodate us with short notice. We enjoyed our stay. Waking up at sunrise to see the sun rise over the ocean was beautiful. Kitchenette and bathroom were clean. Tent area was comfortable. Thank you.
