Looking for adventure seeking nature lovers to enjoy the paradise we’ve created. Please read entire listing before booking! Resting at 2,800’ feet approximately an hour away from the hustle and bustle. This parcel of land is limited to four sites. Each site is designed to maximize campers privacy. Rent one site or all four sites for your own privately gated camping experience. Access to all four sites is through a private locked gate. This site is shaded by Chinquapin trees (they have delicious edible nuts covered by delicate needle covered husks:) with a level pad, and overlooking the South Bay Valley. Picnic table, trash can, propane firepit & water are provided at each site. Bring your own propane or add it as an extra and it will be hooked up ready to go.Since this is our first year renting our land we have found that August is a high wasp season time in the mountains. We are doing everything humanly possible to hunt down each and every Wasp for your enjoyment. With this in mind we ask you use the provided bug repellent, keep the lid to the trash closed, and do not pour grease anywhere you do not want wasps.
Experience everything the Bay Area has to offer from this mountain top site. With jaw dropping views, and roughly 50 minutes to any city in the Bay Area, this site is ideal for any person looking for an adventurous (Minimum) two day getaway retreat.
The trip to the site will begin with a three mile drive on a private dirt road. Plan on arriving before sunset, unless you’re a seasoned camper. Being on the very top of a mountain brings more seasonality than the surrounding cities. Please be prepared for any kind of extreme weather. It is possible for it to get windy, foggy, rainy, hot and sunny, and even sometimes snowy. Although the mountains are generally quiet and peaceful it is possible to hear sounds such as chainsaws, gunshots, motorcycles, other automobiles, birds chirping, laughter, etc. It is generally very quiet once the sun goes down. Cell service is good on these sites.
Adventure seekers will find paradise here! Mount Madonna Park with miles of trails is 20 minutes down the road. You can dump your septic there as well! Horseback riding rentals are located near the park as well as an archery range.
Demonstration forest is 15 minutes down the road, with miles of mountain biking. Spend a day at one of the beaches in Santa Cruz, Capitola, Aptos, Rio Del Mar, Davenport, Half Moon Bay, Monterey, or Carmel and return to your private oasis. Or Explore Silicon Valley from this centrally located parcel.
Kim Son Meditation Center and Mount Madonna Center are approximately 15 minutes away. There are also wonderful wineries throughout the mountains here.
Please note: The nearest grocer is 30 minutes from this site. Emergency supplies are available for delivery to your campsite. Cell phone reception is good on most carriers. Pets are allowed on leash. Enjoy your time howling at the moon, star gazing, bird watching/wildlife viewing, or relaxing with your favorite libation.

If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
I stayed here for one night with three adults and five kids. In all, I’m happy with the experience. I enjoyed the remoteness of the spot and the quiet. I think our kids were maybe too loud - I hope that didn’t disturb anyone nearby. We paid $115 for one night, which was a lot for such a small, primitive site.
Pros: Quiet, isolated spot. Excellent views of the surrounding ridges and valley. Excellent for watching the stars.
Cons: Wasps. The campsite was covered in wasps as soon as the food came out. I had four wasps immolate themselves in my frypan. We had to eat inside the tents. The hosts warned us that this is wasp season, so fair enough. Still, it’s a con.
The site description promised the site was shaded and had a level pad. However, there was no shade at the site and no pad. (We moved the picnic table into the road to get the only shade available.) Site was very dusty - would have been less of an issue with a tent pad. Not much room at the site: we had just enough space for three smaller tents and two cars, and we were kind of crammed together.
Note: 4WD vehicle would be best for getting in and out. My front wheel drive sedan handled it OK, but I wouldn’t have attempted it if it was raining at all.
Beautiful camp site and very responsive hosts. A great view and definitely felt like being out of town. The stars were amazing! Do note that it's very dusty and the wasps (we stayed in August) were PLENTIFUL and very interested in our food.
Great stars and overnight stay!
So this is a great spot off summit road, a dirt road high up on the coast mountains near Santa Cruz - 2wd can do it. Great flat spot in the dry, manzanita side of the mountain with partial views of the valley. The site was super flat, neat, well maintained and had water and a picnic table with a kind note. Since we got the site to spend the days mountain biking in Soquel Forest, it was a pefect - 20 minutes away and a great place to rest, play cards, cook dinner and recouperate. I also had a question that they answered immediately! Great cell coverage as well. The only things to be aware of is there is no shade in this particular spot and it's not a huge property and it's the smallest site on the property and is surrounded by manzanita, so don't expect to be able to play a large game of frisbee, etc. You do have a nice large camping spot with pretty good privacy, and fantastic star watching, but need to drive a good way to do anything else. Site 1 was much larger and site 2 had the most privacy and shade. This site worked great for us, but it would not be a place for a family to simply hang out at over an entire weekend or anything- expect to drive to find things to do.
Escape from silicon valley
Ever dream of buying raw mountain land within an hour's drive of your home in the burbs so that you can go camping any time? Well I have. And Noah's Valley View campground pretty much "scratches that itch". Getting there is part of the adventure as you drive on some dirt roads (we did fine in our 2WD van). We went the long way, past Mt. Madonna county park, which I was told is less rugged than approaching from the west. Read the host's directions carefully and give yourself plenty of time. AT&T + Verizon Cell service was reasonable and GPS got us 99% of the way there.
The payoff is a beautiful, private, flat and clean spot to set up camp. From what I could tell, the land was cleared and graded not too long ago (did I see tractor tracks?). We were pleasantly surprised to find a brand new fire pit (propane costs extra or BYO), picnic table, some other amenities and a nice note from the hosts.
As the crow flies, this place is less than 20 miles away from home. But being there felt like a different world. Highly recommended for a quick weekend getaway.
