This place is a little paradise, in the middle of the woods, on a big and beautiful backyard. It’s comfy, quiet, clean. Jennifer is such a nice host, doing her best to put us at ease. And her dog, after barking a little at first, became very gentle when we talked to him.
Loved the tent experience at Jennifer’s. It was comfortable, clean, and we loved the outdoor shower and coffee in the yard. We hope to return and would recommend to anyone visiting the Mendo area. Thanks for the great stay!
Jennifer’s Serendipity camp was perfectly set up for a wonderful time. The bed was comfy and the land is bountiful. She’s a wonderful host who made us feel very welcome. As our toddler put it, we want to stay here every day!
Bliss in a bell tent.
Perfect find for a quick getaway, A beautiful site under the trees and stars.
This site was clean and comfortable. The yard backs up to a creek and the main home felt a lot like a cabin in the woods from a fairy tale. Compost toilet, with hand washing basin was well kept and the camp kitchen has everything you need to make a breakfast or dinner. The Bell Tent was clean and warm, It was a firm pad atop an air mattress, which was plenty comfortable for me.
It was a great place to fall asleep and an even better place to wake up. I met the daughter of the Hipcamp Host and all the dogs. They were warm and inviting folks.
My only two suggestions for guests arriving are...
1 - If you are traveling with food in an ice chest either leave it in your car overnight or if it does not leak, maybe bring it into the tent. Do not leave it outside for the critters.
2 - if you are not familiar with the area, start your google maps directions long before you leave Mendocino or the 101. There is no service anywhere in between and drive out to find it during the day.
Great location, lovely experience!
I really loved my time here! The tent's very spacious, and located in a lovely sunny garden, surrounded by tall redwoods. It felt like an artist's retreat, with very quaint touches like the flower painted outdoor shower. The tent itself is simple, spacious, sturdy, with little bedside and overhead lanterns. I especially enjoyed just reading my book in a big cozy camp chair off the tent platform, just taking in the garden and redwoods. At night the garden came alive with tiny jars filled with lights--creating an enchanting mood.
This is an ideal location for visiting local sites. Everything's about a half hour drive, more or less: Montgomery Woods, Orr Hot Springs, the town and beaches of Mendocino, Anderson Valley wine tasting--and excellent restaurants in Mendocino and the Anderson Valley. You walk out the gate to "downtown" Comptche, which consists of a little store and post office that's about a 1 minute walk out the front gate! Jennifer is a gracious host and I'll definitely be going back.
