Saddle Up Ranch is a horse rescue that has horses, goats, one sheep, pigs, chickens, dogs and cats.  100% of our funds go towards the animals as everyone, even the owner (TJ) is a volunteer.  We have over 180 trees on the property (mostly beautiful flowing California Pepper Trees) and have gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains and horse pastures.  We offer horseback riding, goat yoga, goat milking, and target shooting (with pellet guns).  You can also volunteer and help care for and groom the animals while you are here, or help with one of our special projects like building our chicken coop or clearing trails for our horseback riding trail system.

A great experience! We were looking to go camping someplace unique and are so glad we ended up choosing this place. The ranch is close to Temecula and within easy reach of San Diego--we enjoyed hanging out with the animals in this relaxed setting. The host and volunteers were very welcoming (so were the goats). I highly recommend going on a horseback ride while you're there!

We loved staying at Saddle Up campground. The view from our site was amazing and it was so fun visiting the horses, goats, chickens and piggies close by. We felt very safe and slept so well under the spectacular night sky full of stars.
T. J. could not have been more helpful and welcoming. We hope to come back and next time we will plan on riding their horses and maybe even doing so goat yoga.

This place is so cool!!! I took my wife here for anniversary camping and it was awesome. So peaceful with beautiful views. We had a rescue cat who lives there hangout with us one night. Saw baby goats being born. It was super rad and will be back to rent out the big area for friends and fam next time. They also have horseback riding.

Camping at the ranch was such a great experience! I loved being near all the animals and the campsite was private and had an amazing view.

This is a very cool place. The views are absolutely amazing and the abundance of animals add to the wonderful atmosphere. We were actually the only campers at the ranch during our stay so we moved to one of the Site 3 spots to have a little more space, as well as a fire pit. (There was no fire pit at site 2 but you are allowed to make fires directly on the ground.)

This is definitely a place where you're left to your own devices, which we really liked. The bathrooms are basic but totally adequate - porta potties. (Maybe bring a roll of toilet paper with you just in case they're out and you can't find someone who works at the ranch to replace.) Also, there was a rooster that did some major cock-a-doodle-doing starting at around 5am. We didn't really mind, just added to the general vibe! But some people might want to bring ear plugs.

The ranch is a great base camp for Cedar Creek Falls Trail, Julian, Laguna Mountain, and, of course, Temecula. A day trip to Anza Borrego is also very doable. There's also a fun saloon just a couple of mins down the road called the Stagecoach Inn. We were there on a Sunday and there was live music.

Overall, I'd definitely recommend Saddle Up Ranch!
