The Mesa
Welcome to our Rustic Hideaway! We are excited to meet and host you. Our property is located in the Los Padres National Forest and this farm has been in our family since 1979! It was first purposed for raising chickens and turkeys but in 1991 we switched to pistachios and hay. Those crops are still being farmed today here on the farm.

The Mesa site was great! Secluded, simple, and beautiful scenery. It felt like we had a whole mountain (well, mesa) to ourselves.
This was one of the finest campsites I've ever stayed at. Remote location, beautiful views, tons of quiet and privacy. The scenery might not be for everybody but I really enjoy the austerity and ruggedness of it. The Cuyama valley and badlands is a pretty interesting area. Access to the Mesa campsite is via a mile long, well maintained dirt road. Vehicles taken on this road should have good ground clearance and good tires. My 2wd Toyota Tacoma towing a 13ft camper handled it just fine. Amenities were simple but nothing more than I needed: a large shade structure with a picnic table, and a trash receptacle. There is plenty of room to roam on the property and it borders the Los Padres National Forest, which was unfortunately closed during my visit. The owners were friendly and responsive.

Lee is super communicative and directions were accurate - there is poor service in the area so we put Google maps offline just in case.
We met Lee at their house and she guided us up to the site. I do like that the site is super secluded. It's perfect for a primitive camp and I like the shelter and table provided. The views are really lovely. We ended up sleeping under the stars - great view.
Lee was helpful in making sure we had everything we needed and went out of her way to bring us hot water which was very kind.
Great spot; private and peaceful.
Great camp site, private with views for days. Looking forward to coming back.
