Welcome to our Rustic Hideaway! We are excited to meet and host you. Our property is located in the Los Padres National Forest and this farm has been in our family since 1979! It was first purposed for raising chickens and turkeys but in 1991 we switched to pistachios and hay.  Those crops are still being farmed today here on the farm.

Lee & his wife were wonderful hosts! Their property is beautiful and the space is very well-equipped. It would be a great space for large groups, with tons of different areas to be, full electric and water. The camp is surrounded by pistachio groves and mountains, a very peaceful place. There are also some sweet friends next door, 3 rescue donkeys and friendly wild turkeys. :) We would definitely love to return!

Amazing spot for group camping. Big bar, massive grill, multiple fire pits, and rustic setting... Definitely recommend for a larger crew!

My friends and I stayed here Labor Day weekend and had an amazing time! The property is beautiful and well-taken care of, with plenty of shade and nice bathrooms (including flush toilets and shower with cold running water, which was refreshing when it was hot during the day!). We had fun making pizzas in the wood-fired smoker (next time we'll have to bring some ribs!) and enjoyed having a dishwashing sink with running water. At night there were plenty of lights strung up including some cute sparkly lights in the trees. Truly a "glamping" experience! Our dog loved running around and having the freedom to be off-leash. He even got to play a bit with the very friendly dog that lives at the property. Lee and Laura were excellent hosts. They came by to chat a bit and make sure we had everything we needed, then left us plenty of privacy. There were clear skies and plenty of stars when we went (no light pollution!), so I'd definitely recommend this spot for star-gazing/meteor shower viewing. Also do yourself a favor and buy some pistachios at the Santa Barbara Pistachio Company and schedule a wine tasting down the road with Larry at Sagebrush Annie's. Great wine and he regaled us with tales of his days as a Colorado cowboy. All-in-all this was a great location. I can't wait to visit again and introduce more friends to this spot!

Amazing rustic place with plenty of space to spread out and enjoy. We didn’t have a large enough group to fire up the BBQ but will hopefully return to see it working! Lots of places to sit and enjoy, really loved the lights all in the trees at night. Enjoyed walking up the hill for sunset. Gracious hosts, thanks again so much for sharing your property with us. Oh and also really nice to have nice bathrooms with flush toilets!

The site itself is very nice; plenty of shade and nature to see. If you are interested in bird watching, there is also plenty of that. There is a small trail that leads up the closest mountain/hill, and you can see from miles all around. A great location for a private trip.

It is important to note that there is a very friendly dog on site; however, if you are bringing dogs with you, be careful because he has fleas and they definitely came home on my dog :/

Thank you for the nice review. Thank you for leaving the site clean. We do appreciate it! However, I can assure you my dog Charlie does not have fleas. And there are not any around the camp site or my house. Maybe check with where you were at before you came camping here. Charlie has no fleas and a clean bill of health. Thank you very much!!

Great camping site for camping newbies. private ranch hub at a pistachio farm. The hosts live adjacent and are very helpful. this place has everything you need to have a great camping weekend. both men's and women's bathrooms, (with shower), mood lighting in the trees, covered eating area, lots of table and places to hang. 3 fire pits and a huge pit bbq stove in the middle where you could easily cook a meal for 50. overall this is a great place for a huge group trip. also a shooting range up the hill and nice hiking and views of the area

Extraordinary place and people! My wife and I stayed for a short while and were absolutely blown away by all the amenities, privacy, seclusion, scenery and splendid surprises! Was almost too big for us to take full advantage of but want to come back with a big group of friends and/or family. Lee and Lura were exceptional hosts and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience! I’ll keep it brief so you can get your expectations exceeded like we did. We'll definitely be back.
