My experience staying with Zak and Wendy was definitely my best HIpcamp experience by far. They are the kindest and most accommodating people. They gave us the option to switch to a different campsite upon arrival, since they had another site that was unbooked for the night. They also provided us with some delicious farm fresh eggs, tea, and all kinds of other goodies that made the camping experience so much more convenient, including firewood, matches, paper towels, an extra ice chest, chairs, and much more. In addition to this, Zak drove our belongings up the hill to our campsite in his buggy so we wouldn't have to carry all that weight up with us.
The sites are clean and tidy, the shower is super cute, there's a beautiful little koi pond, and they were very welcoming about having us go into the pool (though we decided not to because it was cold out when we had arrived.)
My group and I loved camping here and we are already anticipating our return!
Thanks, Zak and Wendy!
Zak and Wendy are wonderful hosts! The campsite was loaded with lots of thoughtful details, like a selection of teas and coffee, tiki torches, popcorn and a popper, a hammock, firewood, and color changers for the fires! The fresh eggs were a delicious treat! The pool was beautiful and the views from the pool just breathtaking! Very well run and organized campsite! We saw a mother turkey and her chicks and deer. We heard an owl but didn't spot him. It was a relaxing escape! The other campers we spoke to only had good things to say.
Great place to camp, and hosts are super friendly. My daughter loved seeing the horses, chickens, and fish. Only thing I would recommend caution with is poison oak. It is small, but it is everywhere.
Everything you want from a campsite
zak and wendy have a lovely, peaceful camping area. we were supplied with firewood, fire starter, popcorn, chairs and much more to make our visit even more enjoyable! they also have some cute chickens and horses to say hi to. i also appreciated the heated shower. we would highly recommend to anyone looking to have a nice, peaceful camping experience! we will definitely be back
Super fun camping and great host!
We had a great camping trip thanks to Zak, Wendy and Liam! The site #3 was perfect size for our family of 5 as well as space for parking our SUV . We really loved the added touch of free firewood delivered daily and the other amenities this campground offers.
We hope to return again soon!
My favorite hipcamp
Rustic Campsites at Zak and Wendy's place was the coolest and nicest HipCamp I've stayed in! They were so kind and welcoming, and made us feel at home. I loved what they've done with the campsites--they provide fun and thoughtful amenities. I don't want to spoil too much, so you'll have to just book a campsite and go see for yourself.
We stayed in site #4 which is tent only because you can't drive up there. It's the most secluded spot: about a two minute walk to the shared sink/bathroom area. Site #4 has two spots to pitch tents and there are also wonderful sunset views through the oak trees from up there!
11/10 would recommend this HipCamp.
The camping area was very nice with tiki torches, outhouses, picnic table and more. Zak met us and provided a quick orientation The area is very quiet and peaceful. Definitely a great place for camping near Santa Cruz.
