This spot is an absolute gem.... Seriously you won't get a stay like this at any old campground. I camped here by myself and had plenty of alone time but also felt really safe. There are quite a few mosquitos but that is to be expected anywhere in the area this time of year. The swimming hole was gorgeous, the trees are spectacular, the sky was beautiful. I could keep going... Oh & RorieLin was the best host! She showed me around and I would highly recommend spending some time with her if you get the chance -- so many fun stories!
Remote riverside camping
Great spot on a very cool and unique property! 3min walk to the river and swimming hole and 6min walk to the 50ft waterfall. Rorie was a very welcoming host, and we'll be coming back soon.
Being our first experience with hipcamp , we are spoiled from here on out. We were equally as impressed with RorieLin as a host as we were with the incredible space she graciously shares with her guests. RorieLin was an incredible host, full of information and insight about the Yuba river and surrounding area. She was a joy to visit with and definitely made us feel welcome. You will feel like you have your own private stretch of river to explore. We especially appreciated the adjacent bathroom and the views from the property are breathtaking. The privacy is unmatched and we couldn’t have had a better experience. We hope to return very soon!
All that I hoped and expected. Rori connected with me the day before, there’s really no reception for at least a 10mi. drive out of town! The site is located close to a home so it feels safer, as a solo camper that was great! A short hike down to the river for beautiful private swims and sunbathing. Rori let me know about short drives to hiking trails for more river access and history of the area, I didn’t even know what “diggins” meant before I went. I honestly cannot wait for the chance to go back!
Our family had the most incredible time camping with RorieLin and it was really, really, really hard to leave. We were treated as family, so very cared for and everything about our stay was perfect. The bathroom facilities are really nice, the camp spot is in a shaded area, the fire pit is well appointed. We wouldn't change a thing, other than to stay much, much longer.
If you've ever been to Sierras to dunk in the river, then you know what magic awaits you. If you've always wondered—let me be clear—RorieLins stretch of water is pure majesty. Swimming, rock jumping, sunning yourself on the shore, it's all there and in the best possible ways.
This spot is wonderful and RorieLin makes it all the better. If you go, fair warning—you'll come home a better version of yourself.
Our stay at RorieLin's HipCamp was absolutely amazing! One of the best camping experiences I've ever had, and definitely the most spectacular with less than a 10 min walk to views of waterfalls, and only a couple minute walk to a place where you can dip into the Yuba River. Spectacular views surround you along with beautiful bird-songs.
RorieLin provided a very clean campsite and bathroom. Her thoughtfulness in providing a mat that provided cushion under our tent - placed in a shaded area, a table for our stove, a table for us to dine at, containers of water, and firewood were greatly appreciated. There were many other ways RorieLin showed how much she cares for her guest, and it was an honor to stay at her HipCamp.
Her property is large and it feels like your the only ones there (unless you need something 😉), which provided the retreat we needed. I would definitely recommend her place to others (I already have!) even though I'm nervous it'll book up when I want to go again hahaha, I'll share 😄.
