Sleep to the sound of rushing waters and step outside to cook breakfast with a waterfront view. Only steps from Little Jones Creek, the sounds of the flowing water will be your constant companion. This cozy place features a very comfortable, queen size organic Avocado brand mattress, organic cotton bedding with a cozy wool blanket and organic down comforter if you get cold at night. There is also a propane heater inside if needed.  The front porch serves as a private kitchen overlooking Little Jones Creek and our favorite little swimming hole. The energy is peaceful, the perfect retreat from the buzz of the city.

We live off the grid and out of cell service. There are a few spots close by that we can direct you to if you need to check something, but most of our guests enjoy not having much phone time out here.

We're about 40 mins outside Crescent City, with the last 1/4 mile down a gravel road and across our private bridge. We recommend 4 wheel drive for extra caution, but any regular sedan can pretty easily make it down our road. There is a gas station/convenient store and a restaurant in Hiouchi, which is about 30 mins away.

We are surrounded by beautiful nature. Our property borders the Six Rivers National Forest, and we are very close to the Smith River National recreation area and the Jedidiah Smith Redwoods. There are abundant options for river access, fishing, swimming, hiking, biking and more. If you go a little further, you can get to the Del Norte Coast Redwoods state park, Tolowa Dunes state park, or spend the day surfing at Crescent Beach. We've taken our family on the Kelsey trail close by and done some bigger solo hikes up the Paradise trail.

But... this land is magical... we barely ever want to leave and there's plenty to do right here! Hike a loop trail around our 11.5 acre property up to a private waterfall, through a meadow and down by Little Jones Creek (which is basically river status in terms of water supply) surrounded by National Forest. We absolutely love our oasis in the forest, and we'll be happy to share it with you!

This cabin is a small bedroom and a porch kitchen. We have a semi-sheltered triple burner camp stove and all the supplies you need for cooking--stainless steel or ceramic coated cookware (no Teflon), bowls, plates, forks, knives, a cutting board, trash bags, and drying towels.

We have a fully plumbed toilet and sink supplying filtered creek water right near the cabin. Dishsoap, sponges and Dr. Bronners solution for hand washing are provided.

Stop by the spring before you cross the Steven Memorial Bridge to pick up the most delicious spring water!

We have plenty of trash bags available but we ask that you pack it out. We manage all of our own waste out here.

There is a charging port and battery powered electric station (Yeti brand) for overhead light and phone charging (though your phone won't work out here, except for pics of course.) This is a lovely place to un-plug and tap into the flow of nature.

Our home is on Native Tolowa land. This sanctuary is alive and abundant with flowing water year round, wildlife, diverse plant species. We are so grateful every day to be here! Come to rest in nature, catch some sun on our little private beach and connect with yourself.

This is a shared space. We live on the property and we have a few other spots for guests.

Our intention is to offer a quiet retreat in nature.  We cannot allow loud music or parties.  Even way out here, we have neighbors and want to keep the relationships harmonious.

Upon booking, we will send you detailed instructions about arrival. It's not hard to find, but you don't want to simply rely on GPS to get here. It's definitely worth the trip.

See you soon!

Thanks for checking our spot out!

Alec and Emily and Coral thought of everything with this cabin—and with mindfulness too!

The location of the cabin right next to the creek makes for a soothing natural background and a great swimming hole was just 20 ft away (cold but sparkling waters). And their recommendation of the local spring really is just a salve for a stressed mind and body and heart—bring extra water bottles or wait to fill up your jugs!

Even though it’s remote, they bridge the gap of luxury and roughing it nicely with a cute and clean toilet, dish sink with soap and sponges provided, and a beautiful outdoor shower that was just heavenly to rinse off in! Cooking utensils and vessels are provided and a great propane stove too. All of their linens provided are of exceptional quality and everything is just truly so well thought out. The property itself leaves plenty of room for exploration that you fill up a day with but they are also located next to the Redwoods and Smith and Fork Rivers that offer plenty of other play.

Alec and Emily and Coral are generous with their land and connection. You will feel tended to or left alone in perfect balance.

We look forward to returning!

We loved Alec and Emily’s little place! It was clean and cozy, not to mention a great spot feet from the river. We got to take a swim and wish we had more time to explore their property and the surrounding area. The hosts were great and available to answer any questions we had. We would definitely stay again!

I had such a great time at the cabin! It was really cute, and an amazing location - I could hear the river, and it was so peaceful and serene. Even the drive there was amazing!

The river was also fun to swim in, and would be even more amazing in the summer when the water isn't so cold :). The trails on the property were amazing to hike on, and there's even a little waterfall in the woods!
