Welcome!  Please read the whole description before booking to make sure it's right for you.

Pitch your tent under pine trees in our magical meadow right by Little Jones Creek. This spot has abundant open space and is close to our luxurious outdoor bath house.

Take a hike up the hill to a private spring fed waterfall and around the property to our sweet swimming spot on Little Jones Creek. We live on 11.5 acres in the 6 Rivers National Forest. Just down the road are abundant swimming spots on the Smith River (Little Jones Creek feeds the Smith) and hiking trails.

We have a bathroom with a fully plumbed toilet and separate sink area for washing hands and dishes. The water for the sink is particulate filtered creek water. We live in one of the cleanest watersheds in the country! (That was a big reason for our more out here.) We still recommend our guests stop at the easy-access spring at the Stevens Memorial Bridge a few minutes down the road from us to pickup some delicious spring water for drinking.

The bath house includes a ceramic coated cast iron claw foot bathtub, two showers with river stone floors for some reflexology therapy, a toilet and sink. Enjoy a hot bath or shower during your stay. It's pretty magical. Bring your own towel.

This site is relatively close to our house, and the bath house, so you may see other guests around.  If you are looking for something that's totally secluded, you may want to look elsewhere.

Please take note that our chickens (all hens) are also in the meadow. They sleep in a coop and have a large fenced area to roam in during the day so they won't be in your zone. You are welcome to visit them!

Our home is on Native Tolowa land. The energy here is fully alive, abundant with springs and completely unlike any other part of California. The forest is truly wild with deer, bobcats, foxes, bears, mountain lions, Sasquatch and more. We have a community agreement to live in peace and harmony with our forest friends and there is no hunting allowed in this specific area, although there is trout fishing in our little creek.  Come to rest and reset, take a few cold plunges and connect yourself with nature.

Keep busy hiking the Paradise or Kelsey Trails just down the road or spend the day meandering through our forest trail and catching sun on our private beach. We're about 35 minutes from Jedediah Smith Redwoods and 45 minutes from the coast (Crescent City).  If you're looking for a quick stop, you might want to look elsewhere.  We are way out in the woods.

Check the weather in Gasquet for a more accurate weather report.

Bring your own camping and cooking supplies. We'll be happy to help you out if you forget something. Just come find us. We'll probably be out in the garden. We're working to grow all of our own veggies.

Enjoy a visit with our chicks (they may be hens when you're here!) in the orchard and our very sweet bunny named Bun. He's super friendly and you're welcome to pick him up if he comes up to you. He often does.

Our intention is to offer a quiet retreat in nature.  We cannot allow loud music or parties.  Even way out here, we have neighbors and care to keep the relationships harmonious.

If you're sensitive to mosquitos remember to bring bug spray! This is a temperate rainforest.

See you soon! We respond to messages quickly so please reach out if you have any questions!

You'll receive detailed instructions about directions upon booking. It's easy to find with GPS, but you'll need a few extra details to find your spot.

Thanks for checking out our spot!

Alec and his family were very welcoming and their camping sites were amazing. The bath house and showers were magical and artistain built. There's only one bathtub so grab it when its free. The insect repellent incense kept the hungry mosquitoes at bay for the entire bath. Not a single bite. There is a short trail (10 minutes) on the property that leads up to a beautiful small creek that's great for some pictures. Wonderful place in the redwoods if you are lucky enough to get it.

Excellent hosts and and private campsite. It’s a very peaceful property and a great place for kids to explore.

The outdoor showers and the claw tub was a big hit with my wife and daughters…… especially after a long day of hiking.

Be sure the use the directions provided by the hosts to find the camp.

The water source for drinking described in the camp listing was incredible. Be sure not to miss filling up.

I would highly recommend this property.

We instantly fell in love with the creative energy of this place. The drive out there is beautiful, winding alongside the Smith River. (Numerous swimming holes— I recommend the Steven bridge spot, or sand camps!) the rolling hills were a dream to behold, full of animal life and golden light. Alec, Emily, Coral and Danny were the most welcoming host family. I instantly felt at home, sharing spaces, stories and laughter. I have a four year old who bonded wildly with their little one, creating an extra special time for us. They spent every morning and evening playing together. The instant community of this place made for an unforgettable time. It was hard to say goodbye, and we miss the magical meadow and the magical people caring for it. The only thing we don’t miss are the mosquitos! Pretty intense, but Alec and Emily are working to reduce it and create more bug free spaces. I recommend bringing a canopy with mosquito netting, lots of bug spray, citronella candles and anti-itch cream. Regardless, the bugs are not what I remember of this place. It is the connections, the sweet chickens, the fluffy bun, lots of laughter, the babbling creek and soaring through the air on the swing and trampoline. Leaving was a heartache, and we plan to be back. Thank you so much for your warmth and hospitality— it is truly inspiring.

Such a beautiful property with incredibly kind hosts! Great directions to get to a tucked away wooded oasis with a direct creek access on site, and a gorgeous bath house. The Smith River is amazing and a lot of nice swimming and hiking nearby. The biggest downfall is the mosquitoes, but that’s to be expected in the peak of summer, so be prepared!

Spring Iris is one of three sites (currently) at Alec and Emily's idyllic property. There is also another campsite and a cabin, both reservable and closer to the river. Spring Iris is a pretty plain little site situated above the river (no visual, but sound is lovely) at the edge of the property. Nice firepit, and plenty of wood for $10/night. We brought our own table, but Emily asked if we needed one so I'm guessing they can offer one. Mosquitos are especially bad this year and weren't turned off by our natural repellents! We clothed from head to toe until sunset when they finally tapered off. The brand new bathhouse with a flush toilet, two showers, a sink, and a gorgeous clawfoot tub open to the outside and sounds of the river (but with privacy curtains if you choose) is off the charts amazing. Would go again just to have a spot to camp near the South Fork of the Smith, and then take a nighttime bath again! Also want to reserve the cabin sometime! Thank you Alec and Emily. Wish you well with everything!

The outdoor bathtub was magical and the babbling creek was lovely to sleep by. The host gave us a warm welcome. The driveway was a bit of a challenge to get out in our sprinter van and pack some bug spray.

My family really enjoyed tent camping at the Spring Iris site. It’s a very private site with plenty of level ground for our tent. The kids loved visiting the chickens, the garden, and most of all the trampoline. The shower was awesome. Emily welcomed us and showed us around, and made sure we had everything we needed. It was a slight detour but worth the beautiful drive along the Smith River.

The campsite was very nice and the shower/bathroom accommodations were above and beyond. Loved falling asleep to the sound of the creek!
