Washout Lane is situated at the end of a lane which can accommodate multiple tents, camper vans, trailers and RVs. Depending on your vehicle, pulling in or backing in are the options. Adjacent to your spot you'll enjoy a cozy little nook overlooking the creek, rocky hillside, and beautiful Buckeye trees. There is a table and room for camp chairs. Nice n private but a little closer to the road. (Not a busy road). A Porta potty, potable water, outdoor showers and a communal fire pit are available.
Our land was a site for gold mining back in the day and Cobb Creek runs through the property in the camping area with trickling water and frog songs to serenade you off to sleep. Some parts of the creek are dry during summer, but there are areas that are spring fed and have water year round. There is also a pooled area in the creek to sit and enjoy cooling off after outdoor activities.
We are 29 mi. from the gate of Yosemite's 120 entrance. There are many outdoor activities available in the area such as hiking, biking, fishing, rafting, horseback riding, snow shoeing and of course sight seeing in this amazing and beautiful area where we live. Enjoy!
NOTE for trailers/larger RV's: Our main entrance is at an angle and trailers/larger RVs won't make the sharp turn if you are coming from the north via 120. You can pass our driveway and turn around at the neighbors... OR ... If you come from the south through Coulterville / J132 / route 49 ... you can enter with ease. Coming this way also allows you to avoid climbing the steep grade roads of Hwy 120.

Austin and Vivian are awesome hosts, very friendly and helpful. I had a great time socializing with them. They are brand new to this and they have the perfect personalities to operate a campground.
The camping is a bit rustic but they are working hard to develop the campsites and I think it will be a great campground as they make upgrades and improvements from what the previous owner had done. Charlie, their Great Pyrenees dog is super friendly and very loveable. The property is beautiful and the the nearby town of Groveland is lovely, quaint and has at least 2 very good restaurants. The last 6 - 8 miles to get to the campground is very steep and windy but the road is in very good condition, just be prepared.
I very much recommend the Red Dragonfly campground

Great Campsite, there is a cool little creek to explore and beautiful nature all around. Pamela was very helpful
Pamela is terrific! Wonderful stay.

Thank you Greg. Glad you enjoyed your stay. Happy Trails!!
We stayed at Washout Lane for one night on our way to Yosemite National Park. Pamela is an excellent host and her campsite is beautiful. The campsite was spacious and tidy with a table conveniently provided for meals. The (solar heated) shower is basic but clean and spacious and the toilet was kept very clean with toilet paper provided. The campsite is quiet and pretty and we woke up to a very peaceful dawn chorus from the birds with the sun slowly making its way through the vegetation that surrounds the site. Recommended!

Thanks for taking time to write a great review Maarten! Im so glad you enjoyed your stay! Safe travels on your California road trip and many Blessings!!
Pamela’s campground is a great jumping off point for day use Yosemite campers who want to beat the crowds.

Thanks for taking time to write a review Kim. Many Blessings!
It was a beautiful sight. I have no conplaints. On top of Pamela was amazing! I can hardly wait to go back!

Thanks so much for taking the time to write a review John. Glad you guys had a great time and I look forward to seeing you soon. Blessings!
Pam was an amazing host! And her property was beautiful. The solar showers were great and easy to use, there was a portapotty on site & a potable water hose as well. Two communal campfire pits that were a nice way to get to know your neighbors. And the best part was her two adorable pups that kept everybody safe. It’s about a 30-40 min drive to the Big Oak Flat entrance to Yosemite and maybe 10 mins from Groveland a cute little town with everything you need. Wifi is scarce but you can get it by the fire pits. I’d definitely stay here again and recommend Pam’s place to others.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review Lexi!! Im glad you enjoyed everything here and had a great time exploring the area. Love to have you and your crew anytime. Many Blessings!
Nicely maintained campsite. Sites were spaced out each with their own picnic table, so it felt like your own private sanctuary. Amenities were good - even the "bodyguard" pups 😁
The camp itself was in a great location - very close to Yosemite park entrance and other great hikes outside of the park.
Our host Pamela was very friendly and communicative.
Would stay here again!
