Hi!! We are excited to be open for Hip Camp!!! We are brand new and been working very hard to offer a great place for you to come be in nature and be a base camp for your outdoor adventures in the Yosemite area!!! Check us out! Creekside 1 is a spacious site along the creek, with room for multiple tents, trailers or RV's and has a picnic table. If you have a van, camper, trailer or RV, you can back it into the site. There is a gravel drivable loop through the property making it easy for towed vehicles.
Our main entrance is at an angle and trailers/larger RVs won't make the sharp turn if you are coming from the north via 120. If you come from the south through Coulterville / J132 / route 49 ... you can enter with ease. Coming this way also allows you to avoid climbing the steep grade roads of Hwy 120.
There is plenty of space between sites for your privacy. We are excited for our first season of Hip Camp as we have owned the property for only 9 months and have done lots of clean up and preparation for campers!!! Cobb creek runs through the property in the camping area with trickling water sounds, wild mint, and other greenery for a beautiful relaxing backdrop, with frog songs to serenade you off to sleep. The water level is getting lower as the weather is getting warmer but there are areas that are spring fed and have water year round. There is a designated creek hangout spot to enjoy for cooling off after outdoor activities. Our property was a site for gold mining back in the day and there is an abandoned mine shaft still visible. Gold panning coming soon! We are 30 min from the gate of Yosemite's 120 entrance. There are many outdoor activities available in this amazing and beautiful area where we live. Enjoy!

Definitely a HIP camp. Very close to top of Old Priest Grade. Rural and Pamela is still workiing on more sites. Really in the woods and sites are spread out. Wish we brought our pup but couldn't this trip.
A great experience
What a great oasis. Pamela is a fantastic host and has set up quite the campground. Very well maintained with great amenities. We had a ton of fun and met some great people. Everyone chipped in and took really good care of the property. Highly recommended!!
We went the weekend after the Labor Day weekend so we had the whole place by ourselves. My kids spent time in the little pools of the dry creek looking for tadpoles and just exploring and collecting pretty crystal rocks. Pamela was a wonderful host and we’ll definitely be going again. Our site had some shade most of the time and she had nice firepits for us to roast marshmallows. She also let our kids pick some strawberries in her pretty garden. Thank you Pamela for the great weekend trip!
Great camping outside yosemite!
Great place about 40 mins from Yosemite! Pamela has put in a lot of work building this campground. There are about 10 sites with picnic tables, two communal fire pits, a porta potty and two solar showers, which were amazing to use after a long day of hiking! She has two dogs on the property which were super sweet. The creek was kind of dried up but would be amazing in the spring. We felt super safe and comfortable here, would def stay here again and recommend to others. It was only 10 mins or so to nearby town Groveland to get groceries, restaurants, etc.
Wonderful and spacious campsite!
I came here with a couple of my friends, and we all loved this campsite! Lots of space, clean and working amenities, and of course, an amazing host. Campsites are staggered up a hill, so you’re not right against another group. Additionally, the dogs are friendly and adorable. We only stayed for a night, but I will definitely recommend this place to any friends who visit the area. Thank you for having us!
Perfect stop near yosemite
Pamela is such a gracious and kind hostess.. the land is beautiful and wild. We had plenty of room to set up camp and the showers were life savers! So happy we had our trusty guard dogs too. With only a 30 minute drive to the Yosemite entrance, this is about as good as it gets! Also, Groveland is a great spot for pizza and beer! Definitely would stay here again’
Had a good time at the campsite with my bros! Plenty of room for the six of us to kickback and relax. Pam was great and the portable toilet and showers were nice and clean. (I’m kinda particular about that, lol) I highly recommend it.
PS. the two dogs are awesome. (DO NOT FEED, hahaha)
