I host a lot of bike-campers looking for a quick no-risk and comfortable weekend overnight ride from the Bay Area. The peace and quiet alone is worth the price of admission, but the sunsets, the trails and the sounds of nature are priceless.
There are tons of hike-bike-ride trails directly off the ranch and bay kayaking nearby too. Napa and Sonoma Valley's are a day-trip away and Mount Diablo beckons for trail adventures. Easy access to SF Bay area and nestled in a country setting that seems miles away from the urban world but isn't. The cute town of Martinez, with antique shops and micro brew places, is a few miles away by bike or car. Wake to the sound of roosters and cows and go to sleep to the sound of crickets, frogs and coyote. There's a picnic bench, hibachi grill, hammock and a nice deck to share.
I provide water, electricity and wifi as needed. I also have tools if you are bike camping and can point you to the good trails.
Please respect the quiet nature of the ranch. No loud music and quiet time at 9pm. Open fire of any kind is not allowed. Maximum number of campers at any time is 2 and this includes kids. Kids are campers too. Kids should be well behaved and are not allowed to roam the ranch unattended.

I just needed a no frills camp site while working in the area. I was able to maintain my isolation while working out of town and social distancing. Joe was very helpful and provided more amenities then i needed. I was not able to take advantage of his hospitality to the fullest extent, but maybe when things return to normal.
Joe is a very helpful, friendly host and the surrounding area is beautiful. Enjoyed the stay with my two boys, but would remind others that the site for the tent is quite small. I missed that looking at the photos - wouldn't recommend bringing anything larger than a 4-person tent.
If you're looking for a good spot to do some car camping that isn't too remote, this is it! We decided to get out of town for the 4th of July, and this was the perfect little spot to get away for a few days. The campsite is lovely and Joe was a great host. As other reviews have mentioned, the site is on a slight downhill slope, but we were prepared for that. We loved cooking dinner outside, enjoy a glass of wine while the sunset behind the nearby hills.
If you like horses this is a great place to stay. The campsite is set up on the hillside above the farm area, so you're not in the farm area. It is an active horse farm, with boarders and lessons, so not necessarily quiet during the day.
Joe was an awesome host, making sure I had everything I needed. I was thinking and biking and he had good suggestions.
The campsite is next to the house on a private side, so it's easy to get to facilities when needed.
Briones Regional Park is right there, so a great local destination for biking or hiking if you don't want to travel far.
The campsite is right alongside the host’s house, and 15 feet from his back deck, so there’s definitely no privacy. Everything is on a slope: the picnic table is pretty far off level and if you’re parking a van or a roof top tent, definitely come prepared to level your rig. (We weren’t) The only flat area I saw was at the bottom of the hill, 50 feet down from where you’re supposed to park. I figured that was the designated tent area. Also, the horses, the main attraction it would seem, are only viewable from a distance; we were asked to leave an area that allowed us to say a closer hello.
All that said, Joe seemed like a nice guy and offered us the use of his bathroom and kitchen.
When we first pulled up we were a little wary because the tent site was so small, but honestly we LOVED staying here! Our tent fit perfectly and there was a perfect space to cook, a nice hammock to lay in, and best of all a bathroom at our disposal! Joe was so hospitable and welcoming. We were able to take hot showers, wash our dishes in his kitchen, and he let us have the WiFi password too! We loved getting to say hi to the horses and doing the little trail close to the ranch! Beautiful hills and trees. We will definitely be back when we come back through San Francisco!

Joe is great and amazingly accommodating. He helped us out a lot and created a great experience for us.
Joe was friendly ,helpful and polite. The area was beautiful but the camp site size is totally different from your exception.
