Radl Ranch is a beautiful 8 acre working ranch, property located in Mission Canyon in Santa Barbara County. The property includes 4 acres of avocado trees and newly planted fruit trees. The other 4 acres is a charming natural forest and valley

The valley consists of 2 acres of beautiful flat area with a gorgeous newly planted garden and grass field (work in progress) for campers to use, The camping area is on the wood chips just in front of the grass, and the lower camping area.

Campers are also welcome to set up a tent in the avocado forest/hills. (Please talk to my son Perry as we have 2 very nice spots under lovely pepper trees, that are on the hillside in the avocado orchard, my son Perry  can point out :):):) This is a bit of a hike, so be prepared :).

We are in a box canyon, so sometimes phone service can be a bit spotty. Please give us a call at least 2 hours before arrival, so we can be there to meet/greet. Please text if we do not answer phone.

If you are towing a trailer, please advise upon booking.....If so, when arriving take the first left into the lower camping area. There will be a row of dry, cut firewood about 3 feet high (but best if we meet + greet always :) :) )

There is a shared OUTDOOR SHOWER, with hot water and incredible water pressure. PLEASE make your self at Home :):):)

We also have 4 very nice new WHITEDUCK tents:

~The 1st tent is a Glamping Tent, 10 x 10 good for 2 people (cabin style).

~The 2nd is a  Canvas Bell Tent, 10x10 and great for 2 people.

~The 3rd is a Canvas Bell Tent, 16x16 and super great for 4 people or family.

~The 4th tent is a Canvas Bell Tent 13 x 13 good for 3 people, but also ok for a forth person in a pinch.

The tents are set up and ready to use, on a reservation basis at no extra charge

Please bring your own personal items such as sleeping bags, pillows and towels  to make yourself comfortable.

It can be very very dark at night, please bring flash light and  be careful of tent ropes. :)

Check out time is listed as 12 noon, but you are always welcome to spend the day if there are no other campers coming in... check in with my son Perry or Julia for the schedule. We love to share!

Enveloped in the property are lovely wildlife. There are deer occasionally, coyotes quite a lot, hawks, hummingbirds, ground squirrels, roadrunners among other curious critters. Dogs are welcome to join the animal community at Radl Ranch!

We love  friendly DOGS, bring your dogs and poop bags.  :):):)!!

Location:

~We are located 5 minutes from State Street- downtown SB with shopping +                     wonderful restaurants.

~10 minutes away from Santa Barbara beaches

~Hendry's beach great for dogs, Campus Point 15 minute drive + many others

~Santa Barbara Bowl, Santa Barbara Mission, Santa Barbara Zoo, Santa Barbara Natural History Museum + more,  as well as Art galleries galore are other nearby venues.

Although, once you’re inside the canyon, you wouldn’t know it! Radl Ranch seems to be tucked away from all the hustle and bustle, preserving the privacy of the forest. Sunrise and sunset are the favorite times of day and at night, the beauty is amplified by the bright starry sky.

We had a great stay at the ranch! The property is beautiful and just as described. We stayed in the 10x10 bell tent and it was a perfect amount of room for two people. The bathroom and shower were great and the proximity to everything in SB can’t be beat.

We rented one of the tents. The directions to get to the land were clear and easy to follow. We had a little issue with a tree falling and blocking our way to the land after coming back from dinner but the owners promptly came out and fixed the issue which allowed our car to get through unscathed. Only issue is you need to bring your own shade. I would come here again in a heart beat. I’m hoping to take my family next spring!

This was a perfect spot for us with our 3 dogs on our way down to SoCal from Washington State! Beautiful & clean! Loved the outdoor sink, grill and shower, and grassy field to play ball with our Blue Heeler ❤️

We loved camping at radl ranch. The location is amazing, so close to everything in Santa Barbara, yet feels so remote. Beautiful site, nice dogs, great tents, a clean bathroom and a shower - what else could you ask for?

There are no words to describe how unexpectedly awesome this trip was. I booked a canvas tent (site 4) on a whim, drove up from Los Angeles and stayed one night. The Hipcamp is dog-friendly, has everything you need by way of amenities, and would be a great option for a small crew of campers. The tents themselves were super comfortable but definitely bring warm clothes + blankets + pillows because it got chilly at night.

My favorite part of the trip was talking with the owner Steve and getting to meet his family. Being so close to Santa Barbara also made dipping in and out for coffee, food and to explore the sites super easy.

Will 100% be back!

What an incredible place to stumble upon. We got there in time to soak up the delicious smell of eucalyptus that was being warmed by the end of day setting sun. So grateful the owners of this absolute gem are sharing the beauty . Raw Southern California charm nestled in the hills just on the edge of town. A taste of where the hills meet the beach. Can not wait to return . VERY SPECIAL PLACE. Total unique wonderful vibe.

Hi Johanna, Thank you thank you thank you for the lovely review! We have beautiful eucalyptus trees just along the edge of the road at Spot #5. I never noticed the smell in the evening. I'm going to have to go down there and enjoy! Please come back soon and enjoy! Thanks, Steve, Julia, and Perry
