Van & tent dry camping spot on the shores of Bridgeport Reservoir that offers great views of the water and the Sawtooth Mountain Range and an easy access to local trails. Relaxed community vibes, kayaks, SUP, stargazing, outdoor kitchen, Saturday bonfire nights, and more for nature and bug-loving mountain going adventure seekers keen to discover the Eastern Sierra.. We’re a small mellow family-friendly camp with a unique mix of RV sites, cool rental campers and tent camping spots (our tent sites are closest to the shore).
Please note, we ask for 3 nights minimum stay throughout the season and 4 nights over the 4th of July weekend (we won't be able to accommodate arrivals or departures on July 3rd & 4th). Thank you for your consideration.
We have a 3-night minimum but may be able to lower it to 1-2 nights at short notice (same week or within a week or two, especially on weekdays, but also on weekends at short notice), please ask or check the upcoming dates as minimum may be lowered already.
Please read through the entire listing to find out more about this site and our camp. Can't wait to hear from you and to be part of your adventures in the Sierra :-)
We're a family owned RV Park & Campground located on the shores of Bridgeport Reservoir. Together with our crew, we're excited to welcome you into our home. We believe in campfires, starry nights, good laughs, exploration, a deep sleep and an early rise. The mountains are a place to get back to basics, a place to explore, to breathe. So turn off your phone and turn on your senses. When you arrive, we won’t hand you a list of rules but we may ask you to join us for a campfire, remind you to conserve water, and to separate your trash so we can recycle it. That’s about it, oh yeah: relax, it’s your vacation.
Our spacious Tent & Van Camping spot (T1) offers front row views of the water and the Sawtooth Mountain Range. We're a great fit for campers who appreciate a safe space with a friendly welcoming atmosphere, and are keen to embrace community vibe and meet fellow travelers. This site is perfect for a camper van, rooftop tent or truck camper up to 18 feet, and/or a tent or two. One parking spot is included in the rate and we can accommodate the second vehicle, if needed, either at your site or in our overflow parking. Please select Extra Vehicle Fee from the Extras if you're planning a 3-night stay, or message us prior to requesting the booking if your stay duration differs, so we can adjust that rate for you accordingly. This spot is dry camping only (NO HOOKUPS). The site comes with picnic table, fire pit, free WIFI and the access to clean bathrooms. The site is located next to the two Tent Camping spots.
It’s important to us that our guests don’t feel they are renting a camping site as much as they’re immersing themselves into the outdoor experience. You may just want to lounge outside and read for days. For the more adventurous, there's a full slate of self-guided recreational activities available in the area, such as hiking, kayaking, fishing, ATVing, rock climbing, biking, natural water slides, stand up paddle boards and so much more. Do you enjoy bird watching? There are hundreds of different species right here at Paradise Shores, which is located on a major bird migration route.
We do have modern conveniences such as wifi internet; however, we encourage our guests to “unplug” and immerse in the slow pace life instead. If you come to stay with us over the weekend, you'll be welcome to join us around the campfire and connect with fellow campers (we have fires on most Saturdays, weather permitting).
Please note that the water level in the reservoir varies greatly, based on the snow pack and time of year and may be lower if there's a little snow in the winter. Typically, the lake’s edge will recede as the season progresses. So, if you are coming later in the season (late August onwards), you should expect the water level to be lower. Swimming isn't available, particularly in late July onwards. We recommend the nearby Twin Lakes just off Bridgeport if you would like to go for a swim, while you're welcome to use our complimentary kayaks and SUP on the reservoir. We get awesome sunsets and sunrises over the Sawtooth Ridge nonetheless!
Did we mention that we love dogs? Be sure to bring you four legged friend when staying with us (we can accommodate up to two dogs here). With dog wash and dog beach, your adventure pup will be a happy camper here! Please note that the dog beach can be quite limited when the water level in the reservoir is high. When the water level is lower, it's plenty for walks, running around and playing with your pup.
We hope Paradise Shores becomes your home as it is ours. It’s located in one of the most spectacular areas in the world. We’re surrounded on three sides by the high Sierra Nevada Mountains. Yosemite National Park, Tuolumne Meadows, Mono Lake, June Lake, Virginia Lakes, Twin Lakes, and the historic gold-mining town of Bodie are all within a short drive from here.
Please note, we ask for 3 nights minimum stay throughout the season and 4 nights over the 4th of July weekend (we won't have arrivals or departures on July 3rd & 4th).

Above and beyond
We had such a great experience camping at Paradise Shores in early October. The hosts were super attentive and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had what we needed. I was camping solo with my 5 young children, so I really appreciated their above-and-beyond kindness, and looking out for us. We stayed 3 nights and 4 days, and we’re in a tent site. It dipped into the 20s a couple nights, so it was especially nice having a bathroom and warm shower available to us. The communal camp kitchen and lounge-around-the-campfire areas were spectacular- and made car camping and meal prep a breeze - especially as it was generally dark by the time I was making our dinner. I had wonderful, pleasant conversations with a few of the other campers in this gathering space, which is always a treat. My kids absolutely loved the “sand boat/sandbox” and sofas to read books or play while I did dinner or dishes. It was also awesome to have the huge table for meals - or to play card games or color between meals. We loved visiting Travertine Hot Springs, Bodie Ghosttown, Mono Lake, Yosemite, and Virginia Lakes for leaf peeping during our stay. Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone, and hope we can make it back sometime and bring my husband, too. Thanks especially to Peter, Alan, and Veronika for making our stay so enjoyable:)
A beautiful home base for exploring the Eastern Sierras. Our tent spot was clean and comfortable with beautiful views of the reservoir and mountains beyond. The entire campground is clean, cosy, and gave a strong feeling of community. The hosts were so helpful. We will return again as there is so much more to see in the area.
I had a wonderful stay at Pacific Shores! The campsite more than exceeded my expectations! It was so clean and cozy! All of the common spaces were so helpful and made our stay extra easeful and enjoyable. All the other campers at this site were extremely friendly there was a very nice environment all around! Veronika sent a guide book of incredible suggestions to do around the area!! We went to the hot springs, Mono lake, Bodie, June Lake and Tioga Pass and they were all amazing! Thank you so much to the hosts!
Great, stay! Nice lake view from campsite #1. Great location and easy drive to Yosemite, hot springs and mono lake area. Bathrooms and showers were very clean and made the stay that much more comfortable. We would come again!
We stayed at tent site 1 for 3 nights. Everything was great. Bathrooms and showers are very clean and not too far from the tent sites. The dog beach is very close and a great amenity if you have dogs.
Their name is a literal description
This is by far the BEST campground I’ve ever stayed at... and I’ve camped a lot!
First, the space is GORGEOUS and feels serene even though it’s conveniently located right off 395 (which takes you straight to all the nearby sights you’d be visiting). The Tavertine Hot Springs were a quick 10 min drive down the road, so we went every morning for a sunrise soak. Then we took the complimentary kayaks out on the reservoir for a gorgeous view surrounded by the Eastern Sierras. Then we took the pup to wade around the dog beach and stargazed the most amazing view of the Milky Way by the campfire. Now I know how this place got its name!!!
What makes this place so special is the hosts. There are so many thoughtful touches at the campground that show that they’re doing this because they truly love it and care about their guests. The mulch padding to make tent sites more comfortable, the spotless (and gorgeous!) communal kitchen and (heated?!) bathrooms, the complimentary kayaks, boards and doggy shower and my personal favorite: the handmade dog leash weights at every site! These made my life SO much easier and the fact that they even have one in the kitchen space so your pup can join you there shows how much care goes into this place. They even want your pets to have a great stay!
Veronika was super attentive via texts and the grounds host Kelli was so sweet and welcoming. Both of them checked in enough to ensure we always had what we needed but never were intrusive.
The other guests were friendly and great to chat with. This is a happy place filled with happy people!
I now can understand why it’s nearly impossible to book a reservation here, but if you’re lucky enough to get in I cannot recommend Paradise Shores enough and I’m already dreaming about coming back!!
