If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
The domes are incredible- extremely secluded and in a huge beautiful meadow all by yourself. Inside the domes are even cooler, the photos don't do it justice. Was a really great place to hang out with a big group
Best glamping near point arena.
This is my 6th trip to Oz Farm and I know I'll keep coming back. It's such a dream of a property combining organic farming and wilderness. Where else can you read a book in the bathtub overlooking fields while the sun sets?
Dean and Margaret are fantastic hosts and very welcoming.
If staying for a while I recommend:
- making a booking in town (Point Arena) at Bird Cafe & Supper Club
- pizza out on the pier at the end of Port Rd (they also serve cider grown and made at Oz Farm!)
- buying fresh-caught salmon from a local fisherman. You can bake it in the pizza oven back at Oz Farm!
Magic, river, surf, farm, domes!
Oz Farm, and especially the Domes, must be one of the most magical places to spend time in all of California.
These gorgeous unique structures are nestled into a curve of the Garcia River and surrounded by beautiful forest—it doesn't get more private and secluded than this!
And yet, you're just a short walk away from the center of Oz Farm where you can enjoy the company of your fellow Hipcampers, the communal library, pizza oven or bath house. Dean, Margaret, Abby and their amazing team have created a truly beautiful community experience where you can relax, recharge, restore and soak in the incredibly good vibes of Oz. They are doing radical work with organic farming in a way that leaves the land better, including corridors for wildlife to move through and really great medicinal herbs as well. Recently they've started making a delicious cider too. Be sure to ask any of the team about their work with food, it's really inspiring and important for our future.
I highly recommend the library—so many amazing books to read! And the pizza oven works really well, we even used it to cook a full salmon we bought in town.
Back to the domes.... the amazing bathtub is big enough for two and a great spot to watch the sunset from. The kitchen has all the tools you need for a great culinary adventure (be sure to get a CSA box from Oz Farm! With five beds, there's plenty of room for this to be a great retreat for a group of friends looking to really unwind and connect with each other and nature.
There's so much to do around the area. Our favorite spot is the Stornetta Lands out by the lighthouse -- big cliffs and islands with waves crashing all around them. Next time we'll paddleboard around them, this time we paddleboarded from the Domes down the river!
In town, we loved Roots Apothecary and wished we'd made reservations for Bird Cafe's Saturday supper club -- will do next time. Point Arena Pizza down by the cove was super great too.
The surfing around here is awesome, check out the cove, which Magic Seaweed calls "easily one of the best spots north of San Francisco." I love Moat Creek too, it's so pretty. And ask Dean—he knows whats up!!
Thank you Dean, Margaret, Abby and team for all you to do to create this magical world called Oz and sharing it with Hipcamp!! <3
