Pitch your tent with a view of soaring mountains and a canyon at your feet. California Junipers and rugged, mountainous land runs with jackrabbits, quail, and owls. We also have friendly horses and donkeys you can visit (and not feed!) from your side of the corral fence. A skyful of stars blankets you just 3 miles from Vazquez Rocks. From the tent campsite, you look out for 20 miles and see nothing but nature all the way to the peaks of Angeles National Forest in the distance. Near the campsite are the ruins of the original homesteaders cabin and a short hike finds the walls of goldminer's cabins. The campsite is flattish and has space for one car. You drive out a few hundred yards on a dirt road past our other campsite, totally separate. Nearby Acton has pick-your-own apples/pears/peaches at Bloom farms. We are at 3000 feet with strong sun during the day and cool mountains air at night. The camping is set away from structures, but if you want to stroll, closer to the ranch buildings, we have friendly small goats you can visit (and hang out with if interested), along with the horses and donkeys to say hello to across the corral fence.
