Camping at Paige and Mike's was so fun! They have a really awesome chunk of land and make you feel right at home. I had a great time hanging out with them, playing cards, swimming, and enjoying a meal together. I hope to go back again and would recommend this spot to anyone :)
Paige & Mike were great! Truly good ppl. The outdoor bar & covered patio is great, they have grills & we even enjoyed dinner together. I was alone but there was another couple there & there would have been room for many more ppl. Mike gave me a tour of the property on 4-wheeler. The pond is docked with fish and just far enough away from outdoor bar for quiet & privacy but a short easy walk.
ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!! My boyfriend and I were looking for a getaway and this was the perfect spot. When we first got there, Paige and Mike put us up by the pond and the views were incredible and we actually swam one day!
While we had our privacy by our tent, we loved being able to walk over to the lounging area, where there was a fully equipped kitchen (stove, microwave, fridge, ice, etc). The communal kitchen was able as we got to cook with Mike and Paige some nights (:
Can’t recommend this place enough!

Fantastic spot! Wonderful hosts! Saved us in a pinch when our other spot fell through and what a pleasant surprise!! HUGE property with a river and pond. Mike even made us a flat spot right next to the river - gorgeous!
The pond was beautiful and the views we woke up to were lovely! Paige and her partner were very kind to us as well; she made us a campfire and we hung out around it for a while.
We had an amazing time! Beautiful view and Paige and Mike were the friendliest and most hospitable hosts I've ever had. We camped right by the pond in the little eucalyptus grove and it was gorgeous! Had a few questions about the area and Paige was very helpful to answer all our questions. The directions were a tad confusing - but about 1.5 miles south of 162, past the Elkhorn lodge and cemetery is the turn out on the right. We would love to come back a little later in the year as well during early summer.
Wide open land & endless exploring!
Paige and Mike are the most gracious, fun, friendly and accommodating hosts! We really enjoyed their company and had so much fun telling stories by the campfire. My cheeks still hurt from laughing. If you want your space and quiet they offer that too.
The stars at night are so bright and we saw many falling stars!
Their property is incredible beyond belief! We camped in our RV by one of their ponds full of ducks and geese! There were quail, vultures and wild turkeys all about the property too.
We saw buffalo on a nearby property and cows (many calves), deer, a coyote, sheep, goats, and chickens!
There are endless acres with rolling hills and beautiful views which are all easily accessible.
You can see the Stony Gorge Dam across the way.
You could walk or ride forever and not see one person!
The place is a hidden treasure and after you go once the only disappointment is when you have to leave.
Definitely going back as soon as we can and bring friends to to enjoy nature and a peaceful time!
Thanks a million Paige and Mike!! See you soon!

Quiet and serene spot. Parked our tear drop trailer next to the pond and enjoyed the evening sounds of a fire, frogs and birds. Paige and Mike are delightful hosts.

Best norcal camping experience yet
I just want to start by saying that I almost didn’t write this review because this place is too awesome and I want it all to myself!
This is by far the best HipCamp campsite that I have been too and I’ve probably done anywhere from 20-30 of them in the past few years. Paige and Mike were super welcoming and helpful from the very beginning before we even made the reservation. I had a bunch of questions at the beginning because I was trying to set up a great camp trip for some buddies of mine who wanted to celebrate a 21st birthday out in the back country. Paige was quick to respond to every question I had and really helped with the whole process.
Upon arrival we were greeted by an army of adorable pups that were super nice and fun to run around with. Paige met us at the front of the property to show us all the amenities available which far surpassed my expectations. Just to name a few things; there were refrigerators, a bar, a grilling station, bags of ice, and a covered gathering area which is super important for when Mother Nature decides it’s time for a thunderstorm. After that we got a tour of the huge property and got to basically have our choice of campsite.
We chose a secluded area on top of a hill which had a great open area for tents as well as a perfectly wooded area for hammocks. We got the fire going and started to chill after getting camp all set up. Shortly after Paige helped us find a great hike to do which culminated in a challenging climb with an amazing view of the lake nearby.
At the end of the day whether your looking for a great backcountry experience or even a more Glamping vibe closer to the house this site does it all and does it well. I highly recommend this location to everyone regardless of what your looking for.
