Jess and Jas were amazing hosts!
It’s the perfect getaway. We went with a couple of friends and we took our dogs and they loved it as well!
Great views and lots to explore on their land. We will definitely be back!
Perfect location for bike packing
This camp is fantastic. The views are awesome, it comes with a warm shower, and it feels very remote yet is very bikeable from the East Bay. We went bike camping and the owners beforehand sent us details of a gravel route to the back door of their property. The owners a super nice, they even lent me a tent when I told them that my husband had made me leave the tent behind and use a bivvy bag.
I really loved this property! The parking at the Mt Wanda lot says “no overnight” but I was able to park on the street next to the lot with no problems. The 4.5 mile hike is exposed and hilly but beautiful. I saw a coyote, cows and a snake on my way in. The site has a couple of level spots for tents and a picnic table on a cement slab, which provided a little bit of bug-free shade. There is a bathroom with a drinking water dispenser downhill from the campsite. I avoided this in the middle of the night due to the steepness of the path. I LOVED the shower, located outside of the outhouse. Not sure what they can do about it but there were a lot of TICKS on that hill. The hosts were responsive and very helpful. I arrived to a cooler of ice and water as well as for a towel! That was a nice bonus to my stay.
Perfect getaway ~~~~~~~~🏝~~~~~~~~~
Gorgeous views, super awesome hosts, PRISTINE site! I’ve never been to a campsite that feels like everything has been laid out perfectly just for us and our every need considered, while simultaneously feeling so isolated that we could pretend we were the only people on earth! We took the 1.8 mile trail which was perfect for trying out the idea~ of backpacking. It is far enough that it feels like real backpacking (you can’t just go grab something from the car), but short enough that there is plenty of time to enjoy the campsite and cook a nice meal. Plus, if there is any emergency there is perfect cell service and the hosts respond right away. The hosts also stopped by to check if everything was ok and they are the coolest people, I would totally come back just to get to hang out with them lol.
