The sunsets are beautiful here and there are lots of nearby areas where shooting is allowed and other desert activities. We can give you advice if you want to go rock hunting, shooting, picture taking, hiking and more. Let us know your ideas for larger groups.

We are also a great area for viewing meteor showers and astrological events as we have very little light pollution because of our distance from civilization.

We are building the campground up and there is currently a gathering area that large groups can use but it is still under development. There is also a nonprofit here doing off-grid research and a fenced in area for that which we are still working on. Please let us know if you want the tour.

Come and check us out and help us grow. We will be progressing quickly!

Site is about 5 miles on dirt roads (washboard). We have 4x4 but probably would have reconsidered had we known that. Also a bit confusing to find in the dark. An unusual place with kind of a weird vibe, but if you like the nomadic desert thing it might work for you.

After a 6 mile washboard bumpy unpaved road which took us 40 minutes to drive, we arrived in the dark, late at night so couldn't really see what it was like until the morning. When we did we realised we'd spent the night in a junk yard which appears to occasionally host raves. There was a DJ booth, an outdoor bar/kitchen area, some chairs & picnic tables in a circle (all as pictured but strewn around & looking far more shabby) and a few portaloo's. There was also a collection of shanty style shacks (occupied), rusted dilapidated cars and various metal & wood parts throughout the site. We saw no clear camp sites anywhere and couldn't find the fire-pit even in daylight. We never saw anyone else on site. Fortunately we didn't pay much but we definitely wouldn't return.

For info: The unpaved road is no fun for normal cars/vans especially in the dark but 4x4's or folk who can put up with the very poor road surface for ages will be fine. Easier to drive in the daylight. Also, the turn off's from the dirt road are just sand so if you take a wrong turn you could end up stuck.

We met with Matt when we first got there... He brought us our firewood and that's the last we saw of him. There's a sink, an outhouse, a fridge.... Plenty of room to do what you like. Would come back for sure next time with more people

This was a great place to set up camp on a long road trip. We did not use the bathroom facilities or any other amenities, so I can't comment on them. It was quite a long and extremely bumpy road getting into the site. When we arrived it was dark and a bit confusing finding a place to set up camp. We just stopped on a flat space and put up our tent. I'm not sure if we were in an actual spot or not. All in all, it was a fine place to camp.

We got in SUPER late and we’re not expecting Matthew to greet us but he did! We were able to park our big rig (converted school bus + towing truck) 55’ no problem. I think we went during the hottest time of the year but the evenings were greeted by beautiful sunsets, friendly doggos & cooler winds. Would love to go back with a large group to throw down and make use of that space!

They helped me when I forgot a lighter and were so kind to check in my multiple times. His directions were so easy to use so don’t let that dissuade you!

My girlfriend and I are traveling across the country, usually finding new places to sleep every few nights. The NightJar Oasis was a great stop. To start, the written directions from the host were super easy to follow. When arriving, we were greeted by one of the workers and a few heavenly pups (very playful and very friendly. I believe they were trained as well, having no problems with simple commands like "sit".)
The April days were warm and sunny while the nights were crisp. We were super comfortable in our tent and had no issues with feeling unsafe or bothered. Everyone we met at the Oasis was extremely pleasant and easygoing. While we cooked dinner two of the nights during the stay (in the cooking area provided) we even enjoyed conversations with Josh. We also needed to extend an extra night and went without any issues doing so. Absolutely loved the property and hope to return soon.
