Camping with Private River Access
Sweet river paradise!
We had a great time soaking in the river. Thank you for sharing your slice of river heaven with us Katie! The blackberries were amazing!
Tips for happy campers:
*Bring shade for your tent. It can get sunny and hot mid day.
* bring river shoes for river hiking
* bring a chair or floaty to sit in the river and lounge. You might want an extra camping chair so that itâs not wet at night.
*pack that sunscreen and bug spray. You are sure to get an awesome tan
* bring some lights to make your camp sparkle at night.
* bring more ice then you think you might need. There are some stops to stop along the way to refresh on ice if needed.

The secret is out!
I run a risk by providing this review--once the secret gets out about this wonderful property and its owner, I may never find an available weekend for a return trip.
But seriously, Katie's place is a slice of heaven. A dip down from the main road is the campsite nestled around by a forest with a (short) path to the river, where you can sit in the water in your camping chairs or floaties all day. (The path includes a conveniently located bottle opener on a tree.) And that is what we did...soaked in the river all day and enjoyed the fresh blackberries and mint growing along the rapids. We set up a canopy in the river and just kicked back until after sunset. At night, the paths to the river and up to the porta potty were well light.
Speaking of the porta, it was the cleanest experience to date, and Katie makes sure it is clean for your arrival and right after you leave for the next guest (how lovely!).
We were the only set of campers at the site (no more random campers next to you) and her property is surrounded by private property on both sides. Privacy, privacy, privacy.
We had ten friends in four tents, one small camper van and a 19' RV trailer. It was easy to maintain our space, but no more vehicles or tents could fit there, so take it seriously when she says four cars and no more than 12 people.
Finally a nod to Katie...what a responsive, friendly owner. She answered all our questions and really did everything to make sure we were comfortable!
If you are looking for a relaxing campsite with private access to a serene section of the Yuba go no further. This place is magic!

Camping with Private River Access
Just what our family needed... The campsite was right off the small road (which didn't seem to be heavily traveled) and had a large pad for parking, the campfire, our six person tent, and a large screen tent for our kitchen. And there was still PLENTY of room. This site would accommodate a larger party and/or multiple families. There was a nice port potty, which was well lit, and came in handy for the kids. Then, there is just a short walk down the path to the private river access. Truly... the river was shallow, approximately 2 feet, and had calm areas and one faster moving area. It was clear that there had been work invested to make a gravel pathway (under the shallow water) out to "rock island".
We lived in the river, during our stay. With this in mind, I would encourage others to bring picnic food for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner and eat right on the river. The campground/river were filled with minnow, crayfish, tadpoles/pollywogs, deer, lizards, and more. The kids had a blast learning about nature and playing. We heard the river and the frogs at night while in our tent. So amazing.
Honestly, it was hard to pull the kids away from this site... and amazing to see how fortunate we were to have our own private river area. As we were driving home, we could see the public areas of the river packed with people.
This place is definitely a little slice of paradise... and the host was very communicative, thoughtful, and helpful. Thank you, Katie! We look forward to coming back.
