Shady Pines: This beautiful site can accommodate up to 4 adults and 1 large tent, or 2 medium, or 3 small tents. (Price is for 1 camper, $15 per additional adult.) Parking for 1 car about 150 feet from site is available. (*No sleeping in vehicle.) Be aware that a short walk up a path and steps is required to get to the site. The shared solar shower is near by. If you have a larger group, you may book both spots! The tent area has shade earlier in the day. Also, we do not have bears, so you don’t need to lock food up! Fires NOT allowed. NO propane cook stoves. *Please read this entire post before booking. *Note check in (5pm) , and check out (3pm) times.

Other Details and Considerations: * We are a family Hip Camp with children, pets (two dogs and a cat), and neighbors (about 275 feet away) * Road Noise -- We live close to Highway 154, which means we are close and quick to many places but also hear traffic noise from this two-lane highway. Please take this into consideration before booking. Most people aren’t too bothered by it (and some compare the sound to waves as they come and go). * FIRE BAN -- Absolutely no fire! We live in an extremely high-risk fire area with very dry vegetation, so no campfires, candles, smoking, incense, lighters, matches, etc. * Arrival and departure -- Arrival between 5-8 pm. Departure by 3:00 pm. (We suggest that you arrive during daylight for easier setup and orientation to the land and your campsite. If you need to arrive after dark, please let us know so we can best guide you when you arrive.) * Quiet hours -- Very quiet from 10:30pm to 7:30am, Semi quiet in the evening from 9:00-10:30 and in the morning till 8:00 am. Thank you for your consideration of others and of our neighbors. * Musical instruments, or music—Live music is greatly welcomed! Playing pre-recorded music on devices is allowed if the volume is low and is used in consideration of others and during non-quiet hours. * Intoxicants -- Please no illegal drugs or excessive use of legal substances. * Parking – We have a somewhat bumpy driveway that is quite steep. Most cars are able to drive up fine. Please let me know if you have an extra large van or truck, we might not be able to accommodate large vehicles. * Children – We love to have children come! Be aware that we are on a mountain, therefore there are slopes where small children/toddlers will need to be watched carefully.

Do yourself a favor and stay here!
What a magical experience! I loved being nestled in the forest with a wide open view of the beautiful stars! Also, my hosts were great communicators and were warmly welcoming. Thank you for a delightful stay!
James greeted us with warmth and subdued enthusiasm upon our arrival. The location in the mountains above Santa Barbara is amazing. Skies are beautiful. Facilities are basic and sufficient… with bonuses like fruit grown on the property and granola made by the host.
Road noise was a bit louder than expected and other campsites were close, but the overall chill and warm environment remained intact. Would definitely recommend to others!
