Worst experience I have had in my RV. I am a single woman who was there by myself with no other guests staying there. I saw no staff after my check in. No one checked on my safety and there were absolutely no lights on around the property at night.. I went to the office several times to inquire about hiking and no one was there.

I really wanted to love this place wholeheartedly and give it a rave review, but it just feels like it needs some TLC and some adjustments to make it a true five star experience.

The good: lots of space so easy to get a remote site even when busy, the pool is nice, bathrooms are clean, hiking trails are abundant, beautiful scenery and wildlife.

What needs improvement: meditation spots on trails are in some disarray (scattered notes from prior visitors on the ground), charging $20/hour for a paddle boat in the small pond is offensive (and I saw more than one excited family decline to do it when they discovered the cost), employees seemed very checked out and weren't the most helpful, many visitors seemed to disregard the rules re pets, meat, and alcohol, and the mini golf was closed for construction even though that's not mentioned anywhere on the website.

We had a good time at Mandala springs. It was our first RV camping experience and mandala springs exceeded our expectations. The staff is very responsive and polite. Good amount of activities within the camping site keeps the kids engaged.

Just a lovely place. a LOT of campsites and lodging options. One friend got a cabin, we were in an RV, another glamped in a yurt, and another camped in a tent. All of the above worked well. Cabins looked very cute and functional. Good number of bathrooms around for others. Great for kids to go exploring and some nice walking/hiking in the area. A really mellow, calm vibe. Admittedly there weren't a lot of other campers so It was pretty quiet when we stayed there. But is was really just lovely.

Quiet place. Nice hiking trails with great views, hot tub by the side of a creek, pool, communal campfires. Lots of jays and woodpeckers around. A little pond to go boating on. A great place to stay if you are OK with the no alcohol/pot/meat/eggs restrictions.

Clean, nature based, welcoming oasis. Kids paradise. We were there at a time when most people don't camp - the winter. So I am sure in summer there are more people and its a different experience. However, it was clear that the sites are well cared for, the little cabins looked spotless, and all systems - electric/water/septic hooked up, worked beautifully. It's a rare camping opportunity where there are full hook ups and room for a decent sized rig, but you are still clearly in a natural setting and the emphasis is on nature. Sweet little pond and stream, nice little walking trails, a raised bed vegetable garden. All contribute to the sense that you are camping naturally, not in a parking lot. Again, in summer, though sites are spacious, you would still be next to and aware of other campers in cabins, tents and R.V.'s. But it would still be a nice location and quiet background. If you have younger kids, go there, the paddle boats on the pond, mini pedal go carts, and general lay out would make a for a delightful family week-end, whether in an R.V., tent or rented cabin.

Don't be intimidated by the wellness element of "no cooking meat/eggs/fish"... or you'll miss out on one of the loveliest experiences you could have camping in nature, seeing stars more clearly than from anywhere else in the Bay Area, and generally just enjoying the tremendous quiet and peacefulness of a very very special place.

The staff couldn't be nicer or more genuinely helpful. James took exceptional care of us from the moment we arrived. He stopped what he was doing to immediately walk us around the core of the campsite and show us the basics, and then continued to be there when we had questions about where things were. It was the kind of "personal" hospitality and care you just don't find at organized campgrounds these days. The site also has SO MANY activities; we can't wait to come back in warmer weather. There was plenty of space, the grounds were really well maintained, and there are so many "extras" -- like a group campfire every night that the staff builds for the guests, paddle boats on the pond, high-quality playground equipment for the kiddos, mini golf...

Mandala Springs is truly an exceptional place. It's an investment to get there (curvy mountain roads from both directions, there's no way around it) -- so plan to stay at least 2-3 nights... and then you'll wish you had time to stay much much longer.

Beautiful site... great RV hookups (30/50 Amp, sewer, water) nestled in between cottages... with choice of water view (pond) or treeline privacy. Glamping tentsThe site seems to be making a lot of enhancements... this beautiful waterfall was near the entrance. It was too cold to enjoy it, but they also had a nearly-new hot tub and pool area.Nice flat sites for RVs... and very "nature"-ish.... No concrete pads and that was a "plus" as there was more flexibility with parking, etc.
