About our trailer:
We are offering our 24ft trailer for campers. Enjoy all of the scenery of the sanctuary and have the comfort of the trailer. The trailer is fully stocked with kitchenware and kitchen supplies for 4 (plates, cups, etc). The trailer technically has 3 beds. The main bed is a queen size bed and we provide sheets and 2 comforters. The other two beds are the pullout couch and the table folds down. If you require bedding for the additional beds, please bring it with you. We have a max of 6 in the trailer but we will extend if you want to have a couple tents in the site. Just let us know.
NOTE: we only provide 2 towels in the trailer, please bring additional towels if you have more than 2 people in your party.
---- We are a working farm - PLEASE READ -----
Love Creek Sanctuary was founded in 2016. It all started with Stu the steer and his best friend Petey the goat, from there we have rescued over 120 animals, 55 make their home here at the sanctuary.
There are donkeys, roosters, dogs and peacocks that make noise, sometimes at night and always early in the morning. Please be aware that you may hear the donkeys bray (usually lasts about 30 seconds) and roosters crow. It is startling and will wake you up. We do our best to keep the dogs hushed but we cannot stop the donkeys, roosters and peacocks from doing their thing. If you are a light sleeper, please select another wonderful Hipcamp in our area, thank you!
In addition to the interesting sounds you will hear, you will encounter dirt, poop and spiders. Since we are a working farm, things get dirty. We spray all high tough surfaces twice a day but things get dirty and when it rains it is muddy. Please plan accordingly.
NOTE: Starting July 1st, we replace all of our wood fire pits with gas fire pits. We have increased our prices to help cover the costs of propane. Thank you for choosing us!

Beautiful farm! the camper is really nice and roomy. hosts are great!
This wasn’t our first visit and it won’t be our last! We love everything about Love Creek Sanctuary, from the kind host to the friendly animals and great location. They’ve updated their trailer since our last visit - it’s so spacious and there’s even a shower inside! Staying here, you get a taste of being off the grid while also being conveniently located to good food, shopping, and great coffee. Can’t say enough good things about our stay - we look forward to visiting again soon.
This place is outstanding. My sisters and I were very happy and satisfied of the experience. The owner/s did really well on setting up the trailer. She is also very nice, responsive and accommodating.
Definitely check the weather ahead of time! We had fun, but there was, unfortunately, a heat advisory in place that was a bit tricky to manage. The people running the animal sanctuary were super nice and let us know when it was time to feed the animals. Then they let us help feed them!! We got to pet Maddie, the pig's, belly and also spent some quality time with Mork, the fluffy goat. They said to come during the fall for better weather. Definitely recommend for camping types and animal lovers. They even have an option to pop a tent on the property.
Ask the mellow vegan hosts for stories about how they rescued each alpaca, goat, cow, pig and chicken like ones saved from slaughter: http://lovecreeksanctuary.org/animal-profiles.html.
Please put recyclables in their separate bin so they don't have to sort through your waste! I think you can mix hard plastic, metal, glass, paper, and cardboard in the recycling bin: https://wm.com/location/california/nevada_county/index.jsp.
Instead of attracting flies and causing climate change by putting your food waste in their landfill bin, you can feed them to their animals.
They have lots of gas-powered grills and and fire pits.
Their trailer has wifi and air conditioning.
My toddlers had the best times ever. Shana was the most wonderful host ever. Biggest highlight was the kids interaction with the animals. What a magical place. It is a perfect quick getaway. We love it so much we are planning to visit here regularly.
We loved our weekend at Love Creek Sanctuary and can't wait to return. Certainly the animals were a big draw for me; we didn't even mind the early morning noises (honestly we didn't hear them b/t the RV walls and our sound machines). The RV is really great and the perfect space for the two of us. You know how there's always something that doesn't work? Not with this RV! The hosts were cool, and it was sweet to watch Shanna teaching little campers how to feed the animals. I recommend bringing your wellies/rain boots so you can walk around the property safely (it's a working farm, after all). You can easily do day trips into town or to go hiking. We had the best time.
