Great spot that felt secluded and quiet. As everyone mentions, 4x4 is a must for some of the drive up the mountain, I can easily see a 2 wheel drive vehicle struggling or getting completely stuck on some of the steeper, uneven parts of the trail. The yurt is very spacious and had everything for cooking and keeping warm (a fireplace and plenty of blankets). Shannon was great. She'll lead you from the meeting spot nearby, up the trail to the campsite. She explained how everything works and was very accommodating.
The lost yurt is hands down one of the coolest places I’ve ever stayed! Taking a warm bath outside under the stars is an incredible experience. If you’re on the fence about booking just go for it, you will not be disappointed!
Talk about seclusion! We didn't see one person, other than meeting our wonderful host to show us to the yurt. We are the kind of people that value privacy and quiet- and we got it! If we had needed anything Shannon let us know there was a person reasonably close, but we couldn't see or hear anyone.
The yurt is so amazing. Much more spacious than the pictures show, I love what Shannon has done with the place making it feel loved and lived in. The view is FANTASTIC, and the fact you can see it from the porch, the picnic table, the outdoor bathtub and the outhouse is REMARKABLE.
Pretty much everything is provided for, just bring coffee and food (although some things have been provided or left from other guests) and you are pretty much set. We were also very happy we brought our bluetooth speaker for music. Bed is comfy and clean!
Fantastic Hipcamp experience! Total seclusion amidst the clouds (and the rain) of Humbolt county. The drive up and down is tough but fun when driving carefully, led by the host Shannon in her pick up. I would love to go again in the Summer. Thank you Shannon for sharing your beautiful land!
Really well-stocked yurt! Absolutely gorgeous place to stay. It got a bit chilly despite the fireplace (we visited at the end of November) so consider weather while booking!
This place was gorgeous and the stars at night were the brightest I have ever seen. The photos were on point with the location. Definitely need a 4 wheel drive to get there. If you are looking for seclusion with a majestic view and are comfortable driving through some tough terrain to get there, this is the place to go.
