After doing a 8hours drive and with the expectatation that we can finally get to rest at the campsite, there ended up being a mix up when we reached the camp site. Our booking mentione camp site 9 so we had our tent set at campsite with rest of our stuff. At around 9 pm it came to our attention that the campsite was already booked by someone else and he has been camping there since last few days. So we contacted the number at the camp site but now one responded. So we decided to camp at one of the other campsite available. 1 hour later we got the response from the camp team that our campsite was 7 so we had re move all our stuff again around 10:30 in the night. It was a huge inconvenience and definitely something that spoilt our entire night amd we were not able to get up early the following day, so we ended up skipping half of the list on our itenary.
Other than the mix up everything else was pretty good. The campsite, the kitchen and the shower and bathroom were pretty clean.
Pretty awesome, bring earplugs
This place was pretty nice! Good facilities and all, plus they had outlets at each campsite and let me charge my EV overnight.
One thing i would say, bring ear plugs and make sure you have a sleeping pad (i forgot one but the camp guy happened to let me borrow one). The campsites are on fine gravel and there was a train that when going by, woke me up each time with its horn.
Overall pretty nice and well located in town and proximate to the lake and restaurants/cafes.
Neat and out of the way spot, pretty accessible from the main highway. The layouts of the covered spots were pretty neat and was truly helpful as the weather was cold and snow was coming in. Was great to have a restroom and shower near an the open hang out area was pretty cool.
To be aware:
The train does pass every so often, hitting their horns, don't be startled, it can be loud.
The shower areas have a bit to be desired. There are no surface areas, counter space, hooks on the door or wall, or anything to place your clean clothes on. I had to literally place my clean cloths and towel on top of my dirty shoes, so they wouldn't touch the ground near where I was showering.
Outside of that, would still totally stay again!
