Death Valley Passageway Tent Site#1
Lake Olancha RV Park & Campground
My husband and I were on a week-long road trip down the 395 and found Nacho's place in Olancha. We booked it as it was affordable and close by to Lone Pine and other locations we wanted to visit. We chose the Tent Site #1 as it was both tent/RV friendly, and we have a rooftop tent (aka not ground camping). We did not need water or electrical so that spot was fine for us. We texted Nacho on arrival to confirm check-in. Coming from Lone Pine, the left turn into the campground is not the easiest or safest, especially as the highway can be busy and the speed limit is not conducive to a hard left turn. However, if you miss the left turn it is not hard to pop a u-turn and take a right into the entrance. The campground had a simple layout, and the tent sites were a bit close together, but the serenity of Lake Olancha with the grackles, yellow-headed blackbirds, and other species vocalizing made up for it. Frogs serenaded us to sleep at night and birds were our natural alarm clock. The only thing I'd recommend changing would be the bathroom situation. There was only one for the entire campground, as well as one shower (in the same bathroom). I'd like to see more bathrooms in the future if we return, as well as bathrooms spread out around the campground. It seems that the campground is possibly in the midst of renovation for the upcoming season, as per their website. All in all, a good place to stay, but the surrounding land could be better developed for the enjoyment of patrons.

Olancha Lakeside Tent Site #4
I would stay here again!
The view is stunning. The Lake is stunning. You can even swim! Nacho and the other people that work there went out of their way to check in on me during a very very windy day. They were nice, personable and friendly. The only issue I had was there was only one bathroom, which is also the shower, so I had to wait.

I loved tent camping at this location. The mountain views were beautiful, great fire pit and warm shower. Swimming also looked fun.

Death Valley RV Site #7 in the East
April Camping
The views of the Eastern Sierra's are amazing. It was too cold to swim but in the summer the small lake and dock looks like a great place to cool off. The hosts were very friendly and attentive to any questions or issues. My only feedback is that there is only one toilet and shower. I suggest expanding to more bathrooms. Definitely a nice place to stay and if we pass by in the future I will stay again.
